Indeed, the earth became covered by his thousands of arrows. And he showered the enemies with arrows, just as clouds shower mountains with torrents.

In that great battle, there was no man among the Pandavas, nor any horse, elephant, or chariot, that remained uninjured by Duryodhana's arrows.

O lord of men, O Bharata, whichever warrior I indeed saw in that battle, that very warrior became covered with arrows by your son.

Just as a host (of soldiers) became completely obscured by the dust raised by the army, so too was it thoroughly covered by the arrows of the great-souled one (Duryodhana).

O lord of the earth, we saw the earth become transformed into (a field of) arrows, an effect created by Duryodhana, the swift-handed archer.

O Bhārata (Dhṛtarāṣṭra), we witnessed your son's astonishing valor there, because the Pārthas (Pāṇḍavas), even united, could not overcome him alone.

O best of Bharatas (Dhṛtarāṣṭra), in that battle, he (Duryodhana) wounded Yudhiṣṭhira with a hundred (arrows), Bhīmasena with seventy, and Sahadeva with seven.

10.
And, O honorable one (Dhṛtarāṣṭra), he (Duryodhana) wounded Nakula with sixty-four (arrows), Dhṛṣṭadyumna with five, the sons of Draupadī with seven, and Sātyaki with three. He also cut Sahadeva's bow with a broad-headed arrow.

Having cast aside his broken bow, the mighty son of Mādrī (Sahadeva) ran towards the king (Duryodhana), taking up another great bow. Then, in battle, he pierced Duryodhana with ten arrows.

And then, the heroic Nakula, a great archer, pierced the king (Duryodhana) with nine dreadful-looking arrows, and he roared.

And Sātyaki also tormented the king (Duryodhana) with an unbent-jointed arrow. The sons of Draupadī (Draupadeyas) afflicted him with seventy-three arrows, and Yudhiṣṭhira (dharma-rāja) with seven, and Bhīmasena with eighty arrows.
