8.
I have two hundred horses of the kind you desire (yadvidhāḥ) readily available for me. Hundreds of my other horses (vājinaḥ) also roam, but more of this specific kind must be sought (eṣṭavyāḥ).

Therefore, O Gālava, I shall indeed father one child. May you accomplish this desire and boon for me through her (my wife).

Thus addressed by the maiden, that sage Galava then spoke these words to Haryaśva, the protector of the earth.

15.
O Haryaśva, best among men, please accept this girl. With a fourth part of the bride-price, father one son.

Having accepted that girl and having honored Gālava, he obtained the desired son at the appropriate time and place.

17.
Then, from her, a king named Vasumanas was born. He became wealthier than the Vasus, renowned for his riches, and a giver of wealth.

Then, at the appointed time, the intelligent Gālava again presented himself. And having approached Haryaśva, who was pleased in mind, he spoke.

19.
O King, this son of yours, resembling the rising sun, has been born. O best of men, it is time to go to another king to beg for alms.

20.
Haryaśva, having stood firm by his word (satya-vacana) and in his valor (pauruṣa), and because of the rarity of the horses, gave Mādhavī back again.

21.
And Mādhavī, having again abandoned the brilliant royal splendor, and having willingly become a maiden, followed Gālava from behind.

22.
"Let the horses remain with you for now," thus spoke the Brahmin (dvija). He then departed with the maiden, going to Divodāsa, the lord of subjects (prajā).
