10. Then, having heard his mother's words, he spread his wings and flew up into the sky. Subsequently, that powerful one approached the Niṣādas, like the great, hungry Destroyer, Death himself.

11. Then, while consuming those Niṣādas, he stirred up a great, sky-touching dust, and drying up the waters in the ocean's depths, he also shook the nearby mountains.

12. Then, the king of birds, blocking the path of the Nishadas, opened his huge mouth. Thereupon, the Nishadas swiftly entered into the mouth of that snake-eater.

khagāḥ sahasraśaḥ pavanarajobhramohitāḥ
mahānilapracalitapādape vane
13. Into that widely opened mouth, of immense size, they entered in thousands, just as distressed birds, bewildered by the swirling dust of the wind, would enter the sky in a forest where trees are agitated by a great storm.

samāharat paricapalaḥ mahābalaḥ
niṣūdayan bahuvidhamatsyabhakṣiṇaḥ
bubhukṣitaḥ gaganacareśvaraḥ tadā
14. Then, the tormentor of enemies, that mighty and exceedingly swift bird, the lord of sky-dwellers, being hungry, closed his mouth, thereby destroying the eaters of various kinds of fish.
