Then, Dhaumya, the great sage, holding Yudhiṣṭhira by his right hand, looked towards the eastern direction and spoke these words.

31.
And, of both stationary and moving beings, the Sun (vibhāvasu), having returned [from his southern course], absorbs their energies with his own splendor.

32.
Consequently, sweat, fatigue, languor, and debility afflict people. Indeed, living beings constantly and frequently indulge in sleep.

33.
Thus, the resplendent sun, having covered this indescribable path, again creates the rains, sustaining all beings.

The exceedingly mighty sun promotes the growth of stationary and moving beings through the influences of rain, wind, and heat, as well as by providing favorable conditions, and then returns.

Thus, O Pārtha, this unwearied sun revolves, traversing the wheel of time and drawing all beings through its cycle.

36.
O Pāṇḍava, its movement is continuous; it does not stand still. Rather, after drawing forth the vitality of beings, it releases it again.

37.
O Bhārata, this all-pervading lord (vibhu) always creates days and nights, kalās, and kāṣṭhās, distributing the lifespan and actions (karma) among all beings.
