25.
O King, this vision of heaven has been created by me for your satisfaction, as the divine sight you witnessed in this very forest.

O King, O ruler of Earth, O best of kings, you experienced that region of heaven for a moment, while embodied and accompanied by your wife.

27.
O Lord of Men, O King, the desire (spṛhā) you harbored there for asceticism (tapas) and for natural law (dharma) was for the sake of providing an example. That, too, is known to me.

28.
O Lord of Earth, O King, you indeed long for the state of a Brahmin (brāhmaṇya) and for asceticism (tapas), having rejected both kingship and even the status of Indra (devendratva).

29.
O dear one, this is indeed as you have stated: the state of a brahmin (brāhmaṇya) is difficult to attain. Once brahminhood is established, the state of a seer (ṛṣitva) follows, and with the state of a seer, spiritual austerity (tapasvitā).

This desire of yours will be fulfilled. From Kuśika, a descendant will be a brahmin (dvija); upon reaching the third generation, he will attain brahminhood (brāhmaṇatva).

O best of kings, your lineage will be endowed with the very splendor of the Bhṛgus. Your grandson will become a brahmin (vipra), an ascetic (tapasvin) radiant like fire.

He who will inspire fear in both gods and humans, and indeed in the three worlds. This truth I declare to you.

O royal sage, accept the boon that is in your mind. I will embark on a pilgrimage (tīrthayātrā) before time elapses.

34.
Kuśika said: 'This indeed is my boon today, that you, O great sage, are pleased. Let it be as you have said, O sinless one, concerning my grandson's ascetic practice (tapas). Furthermore, O venerable one, let brahminhood (brāhmaṇya) be for my lineage; this is my boon.'

35.
Furthermore, O venerable one, I wish for you to explain in detail: How will my lineage achieve the status of a Brahmin (vipratva), O descendant of Bhṛgu? And who will be that relative (bandhu) of mine? And who will also be acceptable (saṃmata)?
