एवमुक्तः शुभं वाक्यं तापस्या धर्मसंहितम् ।
उवाच हनुमान् वाक्यं तामनिन्दितचेष्टिताम् ॥१॥
1. evamuktaḥ śubhaṃ vākyaṃ tāpasyā dharmasaṃhitam ,

1. Thus addressed with an auspicious statement, embodying natural law (dharma), by the female ascetic, Hanumān spoke his words to her, whose conduct was blameless.
शरणं त्वां प्रपन्नाः स्मः सर्वे वै धर्मचारिणि ।
यः कृतः समयो ऽस्माकं सुग्रीवेण महात्मना ।
स तु कालो व्यतिक्रान्तो बिले च परिवर्तताम् ॥२॥
2. śaraṇaṃ tvāṃ prapannāḥ smaḥ sarve vai dharmacāriṇi ,
yaḥ kṛtaḥ samayo'smākaṃ sugrīveṇa mahātmanā ,
sa tu kālo vyatikrānto bile ca parivartatām.

dharmacāriṇi | yaḥ kṛtaḥ samayaḥ

2. O righteous one (dharmacāriṇī), all of us have indeed sought refuge in you. The deadline set for us by the great-souled Sugrīva, that time has elapsed while we were lingering in this cave.
सा
त्वमस्माद्बिलाद्घोरादुत्तारयितुमर्हसि ॥३॥

3. You ought to rescue us from this dreadful cavern.
तस्मात् सुग्रीववचनादतिक्रान्तान् गतायुषः ।
त्रातुमर्हसि नः सर्वान् सुग्रीवभयशङ्कितान् ॥४॥
4. tasmāt sugrīvavacanādatikrāntān gatāyuṣaḥ ,
trātumarhasi naḥ sarvān sugrīvabhayaśaṅkitān.
4. tasmāt sugrīvavacanāt atikrāntān gatāyuṣaḥ
trātum arhasi naḥ sarvān sugrīvabhayaśaṅkitān
4. tasmāt sugrīvavacanāt atikrāntān gatāyuṣaḥ
sugrīvabhayaśaṅkitān sarvān naḥ trātum arhasi
4. Therefore, you ought to save all of us, who have transgressed Sugrīva's command, whose lives are virtually forfeit, and who are apprehensive of Sugrīva's wrath.
महच्च कार्यमस्माभिः कर्तव्यं धर्मचारिणि ।
तच्चापि न कृतं कार्यमस्माभिरिह वासिभिः ॥५॥
5. mahacca kāryamasmābhiḥ kartavyaṃ dharmacāriṇi ,
taccāpi na kṛtaṃ kāryamasmābhiriha vāsibhiḥ.
5. mahat ca kāryam asmābhiḥ kartavyam dharmacāriṇi
tat ca api na kṛtam kāryam asmābhiḥ iha vāsibhiḥ
5. dharmacāriṇi asmābhiḥ mahat ca kāryam kartavyam.
ca api tat kāryam iha vāsibhiḥ asmābhiḥ na kṛtam
5. O virtuous one (dharmacāriṇi), a great task was to be accomplished by us. And that task has also not been done by us who are dwelling here.
एवमुक्ता हनुमता तापसी वाक्यमब्रवीत् ।
जीवता दुष्करं मन्ये प्रविष्टेन निवर्तितुम् ॥६॥
6. evamuktā hanumatā tāpasī vākyamabravīt ,
jīvatā duṣkaraṃ manye praviṣṭena nivartitum.
6. evam uktā hanumatā tāpasī vākyam abravīt
jīvatā duṣkaram manye praviṣṭena nivartitum
6. evam hanumatā uktā tāpasī vākyam abravīt:
"manye praviṣṭena jīvatā nivartitum duṣkaram"
6. Thus addressed by Hanumān, the female ascetic spoke: "I believe it is difficult for someone who has entered (this place) to return alive."
तपसस्तु प्रभावेन नियमोपार्जितेन च ।
सर्वानेव बिलादस्मादुद्धरिष्यामि वानरान् ॥७॥
7. tapasastu prabhāvena niyamopārjitena ca ,
sarvāneva bilādasmāduddhariṣyāmi vānarān.
7. tapasaḥ tu prabhāveṇa niyama-upārjitena ca
sarvān eva bilāt asmāt uddhariṣyāmi vānarān
7. tu niyama-upārjitena tapasaḥ prabhāveṇa ca
asmāt bilāt sarvān eva vānarān uddhariṣyāmi
7. Indeed, by the power of my spiritual practice (tapas), earned through strict observances, I will certainly rescue all these monkeys from this cave.
निमीलयत चक्षूंषि सर्वे वानरपुंगवाः ।
न हि निष्क्रमितुं शक्यमनिमीलितलोचनैः ॥८॥
8. nimīlayata cakṣūṃṣi sarve vānarapuṃgavāḥ ,
na hi niṣkramituṃ śakyamanimīlitalocanaiḥ.
8. nimīlayata cakṣūṃṣi sarve vānara-puṅgavāḥ
na hi niṣkramituṃ śakyam animīlita-locanaiḥ
8. sarve vānara-puṅgavāḥ cakṣūṃṣi nimīlayata
hi animīlita-locanaiḥ niṣkramituṃ na śakyam
8. O all you leaders among the monkeys, close your eyes! Indeed, it is not possible to exit with your eyes unclosed.
ततः संमीलिताः सर्वे सुकुमाराङ्गुलैः करैः ।
सहसा पिदधुर्दृष्टिं हृष्टा गमनकाङ्क्षिणः ॥९॥
9. tataḥ saṃmīlitāḥ sarve sukumārāṅgulaiḥ karaiḥ ,
sahasā pidadhurdṛṣṭiṃ hṛṣṭā gamanakāṅkṣiṇaḥ.
9. tataḥ saṃmīlitāḥ sarve su-kumāra-aṅgulaiḥ karaiḥ
sahasā pidadhuḥ dṛṣṭiṃ hṛṣṭā gamana-kāṅkṣiṇaḥ
9. tataḥ sarve hṛṣṭāḥ gamana-kāṅkṣiṇaḥ saṃmīlitāḥ
su-kumāra-aṅgulaiḥ karaiḥ sahasā dṛṣṭiṃ pidadhuḥ
9. Then all of them, joyful and longing for departure, having their eyes closed, suddenly covered their vision with their delicate-fingered hands.
वानरास्तु महात्मानो हस्तरुद्धमुखास्तदा ।
निमेषान्तरमात्रेण बिलादुत्तारितास्तया ॥१०॥
10. vānarāstu mahātmāno hastaruddhamukhāstadā ,
nimeṣāntaramātreṇa bilāduttāritāstayā.
10. vānarāḥ tu mahā-ātmānaḥ hasta-ruddha-mukhāḥ
tadā nimeṣa-antara-mātreṇa bilāt uttāritāḥ tayā
10. tu tadā mahā-ātmānaḥ hasta-ruddha-mukhāḥ vānarāḥ
tayā nimeṣa-antara-mātreṇa bilāt uttāritāḥ
10. Then, those noble-souled monkeys, whose mouths were covered by their hands, were rescued from the cave by her in just the blink of an eye.
ततस्तान् वानरान् सर्वांस्तापसी धर्मचारिणी ।
निःसृतान् विषमात्तस्मात् समाश्वास्येदमब्रवीत् ॥११॥
11. tatastān vānarān sarvāṃstāpasī dharmacāriṇī ,
niḥsṛtān viṣamāttasmāt samāśvāsyedamabravīt.
11. tatas tān vānarān sarvān tāpasī dharmacāriṇī
niḥsṛtān viṣamāt tasmāt samāśvāsya idam abravīt
11. tatas dharmacāriṇī tāpasī tasmāt viṣamāt niḥsṛtān
tān sarvān vānarān samāśvāsya idam abravīt
11. Then, the female ascetic, observing her intrinsic nature (dharma), comforted all those monkeys who had emerged from that difficult place, and said this.
एष विन्ध्यो गिरिः श्रीमान्नानाद्रुमलतायुतः ।
एष प्रसवणः शैलः सागरो ऽयं महोदधिः ॥१२॥
12. eṣa vindhyo giriḥ śrīmānnānādrumalatāyutaḥ ,
eṣa prasavaṇaḥ śailaḥ sāgaro'yaṃ mahodadhiḥ.
12. eṣa vindhyaḥ giriḥ śrīmān nānādrumalatāyutaḥ
eṣa prasravaṇaḥ śailaḥ sāgaraḥ ayam mahodadhiḥ
12. eṣa śrīmān nānādrumalatāyutaḥ vindhyaḥ giriḥ
eṣa prasravaṇaḥ śailaḥ ayam sāgaraḥ mahodadhiḥ
12. This is the glorious Vindhya mountain, adorned with various trees and creepers. This is the Prasravaṇa mountain, and this is the great ocean.
स्वस्ति वो ऽस्तु गमिष्यामि भवनं वानरर्षभाः ।
इत्युक्त्वा तद्बिलं श्रीमत् प्रविवेश स्वयंप्रभा ॥१३॥
13. svasti vo'stu gamiṣyāmi bhavanaṃ vānararṣabhāḥ ,
ityuktvā tadbilaṃ śrīmat praviveśa svayaṃprabhā.
13. svasti vaḥ astu gamiṣyāmi bhavanam vānararṣabhāḥ
iti uktvā tat bilam śrīmat praviveśa svayaṃprabhā
13. vānararṣabhāḥ vaḥ svasti astu (aham) bhavanam gamiṣyāmi
iti uktvā svayaṃprabhā tat śrīmat bilam praviveśa
13. "May there be well-being for you, O best of monkeys. I will go to my abode." Having said this, Svayamprabhā entered that splendid cave.
ततस्ते ददृशुर्घोरं सागरं वरुणालयम् ।
अपारमभिगर्जन्तं घोरैरूर्मिभिराकुलम् ॥१४॥
14. tataste dadṛśurghoraṃ sāgaraṃ varuṇālayam ,
apāramabhigarjantaṃ ghorairūrmibhirākulam.
14. tatas te dadṛśuḥ ghoram sāgaram varuṇālayam
apāram abhigarjantam ghoraiḥ ūrmibhiḥ ākulam
14. tatas te ghoraiḥ ūrmibhiḥ ākulam ghoram apāram
abhigarjantam varuṇālayam sāgaram dadṛśuḥ
14. Then they saw the dreadful, boundless ocean, the abode of Varuna, roaring loudly and agitated by terrible waves.
मयस्य माया विहितं गिरिदुर्गं विचिन्वताम् ।
तेषां मासो व्यतिक्रान्तो यो राज्ञा समयः कृतः ॥१५॥
15. mayasya māyā vihitaṃ giridurgaṃ vicinvatām ,
teṣāṃ māso vyatikrānto yo rājñā samayaḥ kṛtaḥ.
15. mayasya māyā vihitam giridurgaṃ vicinvatām
teṣām māsaḥ vyatikrāntaḥ yaḥ rājñā samayaḥ kṛtaḥ
15. rāñjā yaḥ samayaḥ kṛtaḥ,
mayasya māyā vihitam giridurgaṃ vicinvatām teṣām māsaḥ vyatikrāntaḥ
15. The month that had been set by the king elapsed for those who were searching for the mountain fortress created by the illusion (māyā) of Maya.
विन्ध्यस्य तु गिरेः पादे संप्रपुष्पितपादपे ।
उपविश्य महाभागाश्चिन्तामापेदिरे तदा ॥१६॥
16. vindhyasya tu gireḥ pāde saṃprapuṣpitapādape ,
upaviśya mahābhāgāścintāmāpedire tadā.
16. vindhyasya tu gireḥ pāde samprapuṣpitapādape
upaviśya mahābhāgāḥ cintām āpedire tadā
16. tadā mahābhāgāḥ tu vindhyasya gireḥ
samprapuṣpitapādape pāde upaviśya cintām āpedire
16. Then, having sat down at the foot of the Vindhya mountain, where trees were fully blossoming, the noble individuals experienced anxiety.
ततः पुष्पातिभाराग्रांल् लताशतसमावृतान् ।
द्रुमान् वासन्तिकान्दृष्ट्वा बभूवुर्भयशङ्किताः ॥१७॥
17. tataḥ puṣpātibhārāgrāṃl latāśatasamāvṛtān ,
drumān vāsantikāndṛṣṭvā babhūvurbhayaśaṅkitāḥ.
17. tataḥ puṣpātibhārāgrān latāśatasamāvṛtān drumān
vāsantikān dṛṣṭvā babhūvuḥ bhayaśaṅkitāḥ
17. tataḥ puṣpātibhārāgrān latāśatasamāvṛtān
vāsantikān drumān dṛṣṭvā te bhayaśaṅkitāḥ babhūvuḥ
17. Then, having seen the spring trees, which were heavily laden with flowers at their tops and covered by hundreds of creepers, they became fearful.
ते वसन्तमनुप्राप्तं प्रतिवेद्य परस्परम् ।
नष्टसंदेशकालार्था निपेतुर्धरणीतले ॥१८॥
18. te vasantamanuprāptaṃ prativedya parasparam ,
naṣṭasaṃdeśakālārthā nipeturdharaṇītale.
18. te vasantam anuprāptam prativeḍya parasparam
naṣṭasaṃdeśakālārthāḥ nipetuḥ dharaṇītale
18. te parasparam anuprāptam vasantam prativeḍya,
naṣṭasaṃdeśakālārthāḥ [santaḥ],
dharaṇītale nipetuḥ
18. Having informed each other that spring had arrived, and realizing that the purpose of their message and the allotted time were lost, they fell down to the ground.
स तु सिंहर्षभ स्कन्धः पीनायतभुजः कपिः ।
युवराजो महाप्राज्ञ अङ्गदो वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥१९॥
19. sa tu siṃharṣabha skandhaḥ pīnāyatabhujaḥ kapiḥ ,
yuvarājo mahāprājña aṅgado vākyamabravīt.
19. sa tu siṃharṣabha skandhaḥ pīnāyatabhujaḥ kapiḥ
yuvarājaḥ mahāprājñaḥ aṅgadaḥ vākyam abravīt
19. saḥ tu siṃharṣabhaskandhaḥ pīnāyatabhujaḥ
mahāprājñaḥ yuvarājaḥ kapiḥ aṅgadaḥ vākyam abravīt
19. But that monkey (kapi), the exceedingly wise crown prince (yuvarāja) Aṅgada, whose shoulders resembled those of a mighty bull and whose arms were strong and long, spoke these words.
शासनात् कपिराजस्य वयं सर्वे विनिर्गताः ।
मासः पूर्णो बिलस्थानां हरयः किं न बुध्यते ॥२०॥
20. śāsanāt kapirājasya vayaṃ sarve vinirgatāḥ ,
māsaḥ pūrṇo bilasthānāṃ harayaḥ kiṃ na budhyate.
20. śāsanāt kapirājasya vayam sarve vinirgatāḥ
māsaḥ pūrṇaḥ bilasthānām harayaḥ kim na budhyate
20. kapirājasya śāsanāt sarve vayam vinirgatāḥ.

bilasthānām māsaḥ pūrṇaḥ kim na budhyate?
20. From the command of the monkey king (kapi-rāja), all of us set out. A month has now elapsed for us who were in the cave (bila). O monkeys, why do you not realize this?
तस्मिन्नतीते काले तु सुग्रीवेण कृते स्वयम् ।
प्रायोपवेशनं युक्तं सर्वेषां च वनौकसाम् ॥२१॥
21. tasminnatīte kāle tu sugrīveṇa kṛte svayam ,
prāyopaveśanaṃ yuktaṃ sarveṣāṃ ca vanaukasām.
21. tasmin atīte kāle tu sugrīveṇa kṛte svayam
prāyopaveśanam yuktam sarveṣām ca vanaukasām
21. tu sugrīveṇa svayam kṛte tasmin kāle atīte,
sarveṣām vanaukasām ca prāyopaveśanam yuktam
21. But that stipulated time, set by Sugrīva himself, having passed, a fast unto death (prāyopaveśana) is appropriate for all of us forest-dwellers (vanaukasaḥ).
तीक्ष्णः प्रकृत्या सुग्रीवः स्वामिभावे व्यवस्थितः ।
न क्षमिष्यति नः सर्वानपराधकृतो गतान् ॥२२॥
22. tīkṣṇaḥ prakṛtyā sugrīvaḥ svāmibhāve vyavasthitaḥ ,
na kṣamiṣyati naḥ sarvānaparādhakṛto gatān.
22. tīkṣṇaḥ prakṛtyā sugrīvaḥ svāmibhāve vyavasthitaḥ
na kṣamiṣyati naḥ sarvān aparādhakṛtaḥ gatān
22. sugrīvaḥ prakṛtyā tīkṣṇaḥ svāmibhāve vyavasthitaḥ.
saḥ naḥ sarvān aparādhakṛtaḥ gatān na kṣamiṣyati.
22. Sugrīva, who is harsh by nature (prakṛti) and firmly established in his position as master, will not forgive all of us who have committed an offense by exceeding the time limit.
अप्रवृत्तौ च सीतायाः पापमेव करिष्यति ।
तस्मात् क्षममिहाद्यैव प्रायोपविशनं हि नः ॥२३॥
23. apravṛttau ca sītāyāḥ pāpameva kariṣyati ,
tasmāt kṣamamihādyaiva prāyopaviśanaṃ hi naḥ.
23. apravṛttau ca sītāyāḥ pāpam eva kariṣyati tasmāt
kṣamam iha adya eva prāyopaviśanam hi naḥ
23. If we fail to find Sītā, he (Sugrīva) will surely incur a fault. Therefore, for us, it is proper to undertake a fast unto death right here, today.
त्यक्त्वा पुत्रांश्च दारांश्च धनानि च गृहाणि च ।
यावन्न घातयेद् राजा सर्वान्प्रतिगतानितः ।
वधेनाप्रतिरूपेण श्रेयान्मृत्युरिहैव नः ॥२४॥
24. tyaktvā putrāṃśca dārāṃśca dhanāni ca gṛhāṇi ca ,
yāvanna ghātayed rājā sarvānpratigatānitaḥ ,
vadhenāpratirūpeṇa śreyānmṛtyurihaiva naḥ.
24. tyaktvā putrān ca dārān ca dhanāni
ca gṛhāṇi ca yāvat na ghātayet rājā
sarvān pratigatān itaḥ vadhena
apratirūpeṇa śreyān mṛtyuḥ iha eva naḥ
24. Having abandoned sons, wives, wealth, and homes, death right here is better for us than for the king (Sugrīva) to kill all of us who return from here with an ignominious execution.
न चाहं यौवराज्येन सुग्रीवेणाभिषेचितः ।
नरेन्द्रेणाभिषिक्तो ऽस्मि रामेणाक्लिष्टकर्मणा ॥२५॥
25. na cāhaṃ yauvarājyena sugrīveṇābhiṣecitaḥ ,
narendreṇābhiṣikto'smi rāmeṇākliṣṭakarmaṇā.
25. na ca aham yauvarājyena sugrīveṇa abhiṣecitaḥ
nareṇdreṇa abhiṣiktaḥ asmi rāmeṇa akliṣṭakarmaṇā
25. And I was not consecrated by Sugrīva to the position of crown prince. I was consecrated by the lord of men, Rāma, whose actions are effortless.
स पूर्वं बद्धवैरो मां राजा दृष्ट्वा व्यतिक्रमम् ।
घातयिष्यति दण्डेन तीक्ष्णेन कृतनिश्चयः ॥२६॥
26. sa pūrvaṃ baddhavairo māṃ rājā dṛṣṭvā vyatikramam ,
ghātayiṣyati daṇḍena tīkṣṇena kṛtaniścayaḥ.
26. sa pūrvam baddhavairaḥ mām rājā dṛṣṭvā vyatikramam
ghātayiṣyati daṇḍena tīkṣṇena kṛtaniścayaḥ
26. That king (Sugrīva), who had previously conceived enmity towards me, will, upon seeing my transgression, resolutely put me to death with a severe punishment.
किं मे सुहृद्भिर्व्यसनं पश्यद्भिर्जीवितान्तरे ।
इहैव प्रायमासिष्ये पुण्ये सागररोधसि ॥२७॥
27. kiṃ me suhṛdbhirvyasanaṃ paśyadbhirjīvitāntare ,
ihaiva prāyamāsiṣye puṇye sāgararodhasi.
27. kim me suhṛdbhiḥ vyasanam paśyadbhīḥ jīvitāntare
| iha eva prāyam āsiṣye puṇye sāgararodhasī
27. me suhṛdbhiḥ jīvitāntare vyasanam paśyadbhīḥ
kim iha eva puṇye sāgararodhasī prāyam āsiṣye
27. What purpose would it serve for my friends to witness my distress for the remainder of my life? I will perform a fast (prāya) right here, on this sacred seashore.
एतच्छ्रुत्वा कुमारेण युवराजेन भाषितम् ।
सर्वे ते वानरश्रेष्ठाः करुणं वाक्यमब्रुवन् ॥२८॥
28. etacchrutvā kumāreṇa yuvarājena bhāṣitam ,
sarve te vānaraśreṣṭhāḥ karuṇaṃ vākyamabruvan.
28. etat śrutvā kumāreṇa yuvarājena bhāṣitam |
sarve te vānaraśreṣṭhāḥ karuṇam vākyam abruvan
28. kumāreṇa yuvarājena etat bhāṣitam śrutvā
sarve te vānaraśreṣṭhāḥ karuṇam vākyam abruvan
28. After hearing these words spoken by the prince, the heir apparent, all those excellent monkeys uttered a pitiable statement.
तीक्ष्णः प्रकृत्या सुग्रीवः प्रियासक्तश्च राघवः ।
अदृष्टायां च वैदेह्यां दृष्ट्वास्मांश्च समागतान् ॥२९॥
29. tīkṣṇaḥ prakṛtyā sugrīvaḥ priyāsaktaśca rāghavaḥ ,
adṛṣṭāyāṃ ca vaidehyāṃ dṛṣṭvāsmāṃśca samāgatān.
29. tīkṣṇaḥ prakṛtyā sugrīvaḥ priyāsaktaḥ ca rāghavaḥ
| adṛṣṭāyām ca vaidehyām dṛṣṭvā asmān ca samāgatān

29. Sugriva is severe by his intrinsic nature (prakṛti), and Rama is deeply devoted to his beloved. Therefore, upon seeing us returned while Vaidehi (Sita) remains unfound...
राघवप्रियकामार्थं घातयिष्यत्यसंशयम् ।
न क्षमं चापराद्धानां गमनं स्वामिपार्श्वतः ॥३०॥
30. rāghavapriyakāmārthaṃ ghātayiṣyatyasaṃśayam ,
na kṣamaṃ cāparāddhānāṃ gamanaṃ svāmipārśvataḥ.
30. rāghavapriyakāmārtham ghātayiṣyati asaṃśayam |
na kṣamam ca aparāddhānām gamanam svāmipārśvataḥ
30. rāghavapriyakāmārtham asaṃśayam (naḥ) ghātayiṣyati
ca aparāddhānām svāmipārśvataḥ gamanam na kṣamam
30. For the sake of fulfilling his beloved's wish, Rama will undoubtedly have us killed. Moreover, it is not proper for those who have failed to return to their master's side.
प्लवंगमानां तु भयार्दितानां श्रुत्वा वचस्तार इदं बभाषे ।
अलं विषादेन बिलं प्रविश्य वसाम सर्वे यदि रोचते वः ॥३१॥
31. plavaṃgamānāṃ tu bhayārditānāṃ śrutvā vacastāra idaṃ babhāṣe ,
alaṃ viṣādena bilaṃ praviśya vasāma sarve yadi rocate vaḥ.

31. Upon hearing the words of the monkeys, who were distressed by fear, Tara said this: "Enough of sorrow! Let all of us enter a cave and live there, if it pleases you."
इदं हि माया विहितं सुदुर्गमं प्रभूतवृक्षोदकभोज्यपेयम् ।
इहास्ति नो नैव भयं पुरंदरान्न राघवाद्वानरराजतो ऽपि वा ॥३२॥
32. idaṃ hi māyā vihitaṃ sudurgamaṃ prabhūtavṛkṣodakabhojyapeyam ,
ihāsti no naiva bhayaṃ puraṃdarānna rāghavādvānararājato'pi vā.

asti naḥ na eva bhayam purandarāt
na rāghavāt vānararājataḥ api vā

32. Indeed, this place, created by an illusion (māyā), is very difficult to access and abounds with trees, water, food, and drink. Here, we will have no fear, neither from Indra, nor from Rama, nor even from the king of monkeys.
श्रुत्वाङ्गदस्यापि वचो ऽनुकूलमूचुश्च सर्वे हरयः प्रतीताः ।
यथा न हन्येम तथाविधानमसक्तमद्यैव विधीयतां नः ॥३३॥
33. śrutvāṅgadasyāpi vaco'nukūlamūcuśca sarve harayaḥ pratītāḥ ,
yathā na hanyema tathāvidhānamasaktamadyaiva vidhīyatāṃ naḥ.
33. śrutvā aṅgadasya api vacaḥ anukūlam
ūcuḥ ca sarve harayaḥ pratītāḥ
yathā na hanyema tathāvidhānam
asaktam adya eva vidhīyatām naḥ

33. Upon hearing Angada's agreeable words, all the convinced monkeys also said: 'Let such a measure be swiftly implemented for us today itself, so that we may not be killed.'
