भित्त्वा तु तां गदां बाणै राघवो धर्मवत्सलः ।
स्मयमानः खरं वाक्यं संरब्धमिदमब्रवीत् ॥१॥

1. Having indeed shattered that mace with his arrows, Rama (Rāghava), devoted to righteousness (dharma), smiled and spoke these fierce words to Khara.
एतत्ते बलसर्वस्वं दर्शितं राक्षसाधम ।
शक्तिहीनतरो मत्तो वृथा त्वमुपगर्जितम् ॥२॥
2. etatte balasarvasvaṃ darśitaṃ rākṣasādhama ,
śaktihīnataro matto vṛthā tvamupagarjitam.
2. etat te balasvasvam darśitam rākṣasa adham
śaktihīnataraḥ mattaḥ vṛthā tvam upagarjitam
2. rākasādham etat te balasvasvam darśitam tvam

2. O vilest of demons, this is the full extent of your strength that has been demonstrated. You, weaker than me, boasted in vain.
एषा बाणविनिर्भिन्ना गदा भूमितलं गता ।
अभिधानप्रगल्भस्य तव प्रत्ययघातिनी ॥३॥
3. eṣā bāṇavinirbhinnā gadā bhūmitalaṃ gatā ,
abhidhānapragalbhasya tava pratyayaghātinī.

3. This mace, shattered by arrows, has fallen to the ground. It is the destroyer of confidence for you, who are so boastful in your speech.
यत्त्वयोक्तं विनष्टानामिदमश्रुप्रमार्जनम् ।
राक्षसानां करोमीति मिथ्या तदपि ते वचः ॥४॥
4. yattvayoktaṃ vinaṣṭānāmidamaśrupramārjanam ,
rākṣasānāṃ karomīti mithyā tadapi te vacaḥ.
4. yat tvayā uktam vinaṣṭānām idam aśrupramārjanam
rākṣasānām karomi iti mithyā tat api te vacaḥ
4. yat tvayā uktam iti idam vinaṣṭānām rākṣasānām

4. That which was declared by you, 'I shall wipe away the tears of the annihilated demons,' that statement of yours is also false.
नीचस्य क्षुद्रशीलस्य मिथ्यावृत्तस्य रक्षसः ।
प्राणानपहरिष्यामि गरुत्मानमृतं यथा ॥५॥
5. nīcasya kṣudraśīlasya mithyāvṛttasya rakṣasaḥ ,
prāṇānapahariṣyāmi garutmānamṛtaṃ yathā.
5. nīcasya kṣudraśīlasya mithyāvṛttasya rakṣasaḥ
prāṇān apahariṣyāmi garutmān amṛtam yathā
5. nīcasya kṣudraśīlasya mithyāvṛttasya rakṣasaḥ

5. I will take away the lives of this base demon, who possesses a petty character and deceitful conduct, just as Garuda seized the nectar of immortality (amṛtam).
अद्य ते भिन्नकण्ठस्य फेनबुद्बुदभूषितम् ।
विदारितस्य मद्बाणैर्मही पास्यति शोणितम् ॥६॥
6. adya te bhinnakaṇṭhasya phenabudbudabhūṣitam ,
vidāritasya madbāṇairmahī pāsyati śoṇitam.
6. adya te bhinnakaṇṭhasya phenabudbudabhūṣitam
vidāritasya mat bāṇaiḥ mahī pāsyati śoṇitam
6. adya te bhinnakaṇṭhasya mat bāṇaiḥ vidāritasya

6. Today, the earth will drink your blood, which will be adorned with foam and bubbles, from your torn throat and body pierced by my arrows.
पांसुरूषितसर्वाङ्गः स्रस्तन्यस्तभुजद्वयः ।
स्वप्स्यसे गां समाश्लिष्य दुर्लभां प्रमदामिव ॥७॥
7. pāṃsurūṣitasarvāṅgaḥ srastanyastabhujadvayaḥ ,
svapsyase gāṃ samāśliṣya durlabhāṃ pramadāmiva.
7. pāṃsurūṣitasarvāṅgaḥ srastanyastabhujadvayaḥ
svapsyase gāṃ samāśliṣya durlabhāṃ pramadām iva
7. pāṃsurūṣitasarvāṅgaḥ srastanyastabhujadvayaḥ tvam

7. With your entire body soiled by dust, and both your arms fallen and cast down, you will sleep embracing the earth as if she were a beloved woman difficult to obtain.
प्रवृद्धनिद्रे शयिते त्वयि राक्षसपांसने ।
भविष्यन्त्यशरण्यानां शरण्या दण्डका इमे ॥८॥
8. pravṛddhanidre śayite tvayi rākṣasapāṃsane ,
bhaviṣyantyaśaraṇyānāṃ śaraṇyā daṇḍakā ime.
8. pravṛddhanidre śayite tvayi rākṣasapāṃsane
bhaviṣyanti aśaraṇyānāṃ śaraṇyā daṇḍakāḥ ime
8. rākṣasapāṃsane,
pravṛddhanidre śayite tvayi (sati),
aśaraṇyānāṃ ime daṇḍakāḥ śaraṇyā bhaviṣyanti
8. O vilest of demons, when you are lying deeply asleep, these Daṇḍaka forests will become a refuge for those who are without refuge.
जनस्थाने हतस्थाने तव राक्षसमच्छरैः ।
निर्भया विचरिष्यन्ति सर्वतो मुनयो वने ॥९॥
9. janasthāne hatasthāne tava rākṣasamaccharaiḥ ,
nirbhayā vicariṣyanti sarvato munayo vane.
9. janasthāne hatasthāne tava rākṣasa mat śaraiḥ
nirbhayāḥ vicarṣyanti sarvataḥ munayaḥ vane
9. tava rākṣasa,
mat śaraiḥ hatasthāne janasthāne,
munayaḥ nirbhayāḥ sarvataḥ vane vicarṣyanti
9. O demon, in Janasthāna, where your presence/power has been destroyed by my demon-killing arrows, the sages will roam fearlessly everywhere in the forest.
अद्य विप्रसरिष्यन्ति राक्षस्यो हतबान्धवाः ।
बाष्पार्द्रवदना दीना भयादन्यभयावहाः ॥१०॥
10. adya viprasariṣyanti rākṣasyo hatabāndhavāḥ ,
bāṣpārdravadanā dīnā bhayādanyabhayāvahāḥ.
10. adya viprasariṣyanti rākṣasyaḥ hatabāndhavāḥ
bāṣpārdrvadanāḥ dīnāḥ bhayāt anyabhayāvahāḥ
10. adya hatabāndhavāḥ bāṣpārdrvadanāḥ dīnāḥ
anyabhayāvahāḥ rākṣasyaḥ bhayāt viprasariṣyanti
10. Today, the demonesses whose relatives have been killed will scatter. Their faces will be wet with tears, miserable; though they formerly instilled fear in others, now they themselves will be overwhelmed by fear.
अद्य शोकरसज्ञास्ता भविष्यन्ति निशाचर ।
अनुरूपकुलाः पत्न्यो यासां त्वं पतिरीदृशः ॥११॥
11. adya śokarasajñāstā bhaviṣyanti niśācara ,
anurūpakulāḥ patnyo yāsāṃ tvaṃ patirīdṛśaḥ.
11. adya śokarasajñāḥ tāḥ bhaviṣyanti niśācara
anurūpakulāḥ patnyaḥ yāsām tvam patiḥ īdṛśaḥ
11. adya he niśācara yāsām tvam īdṛśaḥ patiḥ tāḥ
anurūpakulāḥ patnyaḥ śokarasajñāḥ bhaviṣyanti
11. Today, O night-wanderer, those wives will come to know the taste of sorrow - wives from suitable families whose husband you are, being of such a nature.
नृशंसशील क्षुद्रात्मन्नित्यं ब्राह्मणकण्टक ।
त्वत्कृते शङ्कितैरग्नौ मुनिभिः पात्यते हविः ॥१२॥
12. nṛśaṃsaśīla kṣudrātmannityaṃ brāhmaṇakaṇṭaka ,
tvatkṛte śaṅkitairagnau munibhiḥ pātyate haviḥ.
12. nṛśaṃsaśīla kṣudrātman nityam brāhmaṇakaṇṭaka
tvatkṛte śaṅkitaiḥ agnau munibhiḥ pātyate haviḥ
12. he nṛśaṃsaśīla he kṣudrātman he nityam brāhmaṇakaṇṭaka
tvatkṛte śaṅkitaiḥ munibhiḥ haviḥ agnau pātyate
12. O cruel-natured one, O mean-spirited one, O constant tormentor of Brahmins! It is because of you that oblations (havis) are poured into the fire (agni) by apprehensive sages.
तमेवमभिसंरब्धं ब्रुवाणं राघवं रणे ।
खरो निर्भर्त्सयामास रोषात् खरतर स्वनः ॥१३॥
13. tamevamabhisaṃrabdhaṃ bruvāṇaṃ rāghavaṃ raṇe ,
kharo nirbhartsayāmāsa roṣāt kharatara svanaḥ.
13. tam evam abhisaṃrabdham bruvāṇam rāghavam raṇe
kharaḥ nirbhartsayāmāsa roṣāt kharataraḥ svanaḥ
13. raṇe evam abhisaṃrabdham bruvāṇam tam rāghavam
kharataraḥ svanaḥ kharaḥ roṣāt nirbhartsayāmāsa
13. Then, Khara, with an exceedingly harsh voice, angrily rebuked Rāghava, who was speaking thus and was greatly enraged on the battlefield.
दृढं खल्ववलिप्तो ऽसि भयेष्वपि च निर्भयः ।
वाच्यावाच्यं ततो हि त्वं मृत्युवश्यो न बुध्यसे ॥१४॥
14. dṛḍhaṃ khalvavalipto'si bhayeṣvapi ca nirbhayaḥ ,
vācyāvācyaṃ tato hi tvaṃ mṛtyuvaśyo na budhyase.
14. dṛḍham khalu avaliptaḥ asi bhayeṣu api ca nirbhayaḥ
vācyāvācyaṃ tataḥ hi tvam mṛtyuvaśyaḥ na budhyase
14. tvam dṛḍham khalu avaliptaḥ asi ca bhayeṣu api
nirbhayaḥ tataḥ hi mṛtyuvaśyaḥ vācyāvācyaṃ na budhyase
14. You are indeed exceedingly arrogant, and fearless even in the face of dangers. Hence, being under the control of death, you do not comprehend what is proper to say and what is not.
कालपाशपरिक्षिप्ता भवन्ति पुरुषा हि ये ।
कार्याकार्यं न जानन्ति ते निरस्तषडिन्द्रियाः ॥१५॥
15. kālapāśaparikṣiptā bhavanti puruṣā hi ye ,
kāryākāryaṃ na jānanti te nirastaṣaḍindriyāḥ.
15. kālapāśaparikṣiptāḥ bhavanti puruṣāḥ hi ye
kāryākāryaṃ na jānanti te nirastaṣaḍindriyāḥ
15. ye puruṣāḥ hi kālapāśaparikṣiptāḥ bhavanti
te nirastaṣaḍindriyāḥ kāryākāryaṃ na jānanti
15. Indeed, those individuals (puruṣa) who are ensnared by the noose of time - those whose six senses are suppressed - do not discern what is proper action and what is not.
एवमुक्त्वा ततो रामं संरुध्य भृकुटिं ततः ।
स ददर्श महासालमविदूरे निशाचरः ॥१६॥
16. evamuktvā tato rāmaṃ saṃrudhya bhṛkuṭiṃ tataḥ ,
sa dadarśa mahāsālamavidūre niśācaraḥ.
16. evam uktvā tataḥ rāmam saṃrudhya bhṛkuṭim
tataḥ saḥ dadarśa mahāsālam avidūre niśācaraḥ
16. niśācaraḥ evam rāmam uktvā tataḥ bhṛkuṭim
saṃrudhya tataḥ saḥ avidūre mahāsālam dadarśa
16. After speaking thus to Rāma and then furrowing his brow, that night-roaming demon (nishaacara) saw a great śāla tree not far away.
रणे प्रहरणस्यार्थे सर्वतो ह्यवलोकयन् ।
स तमुत्पाटयामास संदृश्य दशनच्छदम् ॥१७॥
17. raṇe praharaṇasyārthe sarvato hyavalokayan ,
sa tamutpāṭayāmāsa saṃdṛśya daśanacchadam.
17. raṇe praharaṇasya arthe sarvataḥ hi avalokayan
saḥ tam utpāṭayāmāsa saṃdṛśya daśanacchadam
17. saḥ raṇe praharaṇasya arthe hi sarvataḥ avalokayan
daśanacchadam saṃdṛśya tam utpāṭayāmāsa
17. In battle, indeed searching everywhere for a weapon, he uprooted that tree, revealing his lips.
तं समुत्क्षिप्य बाहुभ्यां विनर्दित्वा महाबलः ।
राममुद्दिश्य चिक्षेप हतस्त्वमिति चाब्रवीत् ॥१८॥
18. taṃ samutkṣipya bāhubhyāṃ vinarditvā mahābalaḥ ,
rāmamuddiśya cikṣepa hatastvamiti cābravīt.
18. tam samutkṣipya bāhubhyām vinarditvā mahābalaḥ
rāmam uddiśya cikṣepa hataḥ tvam iti ca abravīt
18. mahābalaḥ bāhubhyām tam samutkṣipya vinarditvā
rāmam uddiśya cikṣepa ca tvam hataḥ iti abravīt
18. The greatly powerful one, having lifted that (object) with both arms and roared, hurled it, aiming at Rāma, and exclaimed, 'You are killed!'
तमापतन्तं बाणौघैश्छित्त्वा रामः प्रतापवान् ।
रोषमाहारयत्तीव्रं निहन्तुं समरे खरम् ॥१९॥
19. tamāpatantaṃ bāṇaughaiśchittvā rāmaḥ pratāpavān ,
roṣamāhārayattīvraṃ nihantuṃ samare kharam.
19. tam āpatantam bāṇaughaiḥ chittvā rāmaḥ pratāpavān
roṣam āhārayat tīvram nihantum samare kharam
19. pratāpavān rāmaḥ bāṇaughaiḥ tam āpatantam chittvā
samare kharam nihantum tīvram roṣam āhārayat
19. The glorious Rāma, having cut down that (object) which was approaching with volleys of arrows, manifested intense wrath to kill Khara in battle.
जातस्वेदस्ततो रामो रोषाद् रक्तान्तलोचनः ।
निर्बिभेद सहस्रेण बाणानां समरे खरम् ॥२०॥
20. jātasvedastato rāmo roṣād raktāntalocanaḥ ,
nirbibheda sahasreṇa bāṇānāṃ samare kharam.
20. jātasvedaḥ tataḥ rāmaḥ roṣāt raktāntalocanaḥ
nirbibheda sahasreṇa bāṇānām samare kharam
20. tataḥ jātasvedaḥ roṣāt raktāntalocanaḥ rāmaḥ
samare sahasreṇa bāṇānām kharam nirbibheda
20. Then, Rāma, perspiring and having the corners of his eyes reddened from anger, pierced Khara in battle with a thousand arrows.
तस्य बाणान्तराद् रक्तं बहु सुस्राव फेनिलम् ।
गिरेः प्रस्रवणस्येव तोयधारापरिस्रवः ॥२१॥
21. tasya bāṇāntarād raktaṃ bahu susrāva phenilam ,
gireḥ prasravaṇasyeva toyadhārāparisravaḥ.
21. tasya bāṇāntarāt raktam bahu susrāva phenilam
gireḥ prasravaṇasya iva toyadhārāparisravaḥ
21. tasya bāṇāntarāt bahu phenilam raktam susrāva,
gireḥ prasravaṇasya toyadhārāparisravaḥ iva
21. Much foamy blood flowed from him (Khara) from between the arrows, like the gushing of water streams from a mountain spring.
विह्वलः स कृतो बाणैः खरो रामेण संयुगे ।
मत्तो रुधिरगन्धेन तमेवाभ्यद्रवद्द्रुतम् ॥२२॥
22. vihvalaḥ sa kṛto bāṇaiḥ kharo rāmeṇa saṃyuge ,
matto rudhiragandhena tamevābhyadravaddrutam.
22. vihvalaḥ saḥ kṛtaḥ bāṇaiḥ kharaḥ rāmeṇa saṃyuge
mattaḥ rudhiragandhena tam eva abhyadravat drutam
22. saḥ kharaḥ rāmeṇa bāṇaiḥ saṃyuge vihvalaḥ kṛtaḥ
rudhiragandhena mattaḥ tam eva drutam abhyadravat
22. In battle, Khara was rendered distraught by Rama's arrows. Maddened by the smell of blood, he swiftly rushed towards Rama himself.
तमापतन्तं संरब्धं कृतास्त्रो रुधिराप्लुतम् ।
अपसर्पत् प्रतिपदं किं चित्त्वरितविक्रमः ॥२३॥
23. tamāpatantaṃ saṃrabdhaṃ kṛtāstro rudhirāplutam ,
apasarpat pratipadaṃ kiṃ cittvaritavikramaḥ.
23. tam āpatantam saṃrabdham kṛtāstraḥ rudhirāplutam
apasarpat pratipadam kim cit tvaritavikramaḥ
23. kṛtāstraḥ (rāmaḥ) tam saṃrabdham rudhirāplutam āpatantam
(kharam) apasarpat pratipadam kim cit tvaritavikramaḥ
23. Seeing that enraged and blood-covered Khara approaching, Rama, who was an expert in weaponry, retreated step by step with somewhat quickened movements.
ततः पावकसंकाशं बधाय समरे शरम् ।
खरस्य रामो जग्राह ब्रह्मदण्डमिवापरम् ॥२४॥
24. tataḥ pāvakasaṃkāśaṃ badhāya samare śaram ,
kharasya rāmo jagrāha brahmadaṇḍamivāparam.
24. tataḥ pāvakasamkāśam badhāya samare śaram
kharasya rāmaḥ jagrāha brahmadaṇḍam iva aparam
24. tataḥ rāmaḥ kharasya badhāya samare pāvakasamkāśam
aparam brahmadaṇḍam iva śaram jagrāha
24. Then, for the slaying of Khara in battle, Rama grasped an arrow blazing like fire, as if it were a second staff of Brahma.
स तद्दत्तं मघवता सुरराजेन धीमता ।
संदधे च स धर्मात्मा मुमोच च खरं प्रति ॥२५॥
25. sa taddattaṃ maghavatā surarājena dhīmatā ,
saṃdadhe ca sa dharmātmā mumoca ca kharaṃ prati.
25. saḥ tat dattam maghavatā surarājena dhīmatā
saṃdadhe ca saḥ dharmātmā mumoca ca kharam prati
25. saḥ dharmātmā (rāmaḥ) tat (śaram) maghavatā surarājena
dhīmatā dattam (sat) saṃdadhe ca kharam prati mumoca ca
25. And that righteous soul (dharmātmā), Rama, aimed that arrow, which had been given by the wise king of gods, Indra (maghavatā), and released it towards Khara.
स विमुक्तो महाबाणो निर्घातसमनिःस्वनः ।
रामेण धनुरुद्यम्य खरस्योरसि चापतत् ॥२६॥
26. sa vimukto mahābāṇo nirghātasamaniḥsvanaḥ ,
rāmeṇa dhanurudyamya kharasyorasi cāpatat.
26. saḥ vimuktaḥ mahābāṇaḥ nirghātasamaniḥsvanaḥ
rāmeṇa dhanuḥ udyamya kharasya urasi ca apatat
26. rāmeṇa dhanuḥ udyamya,
nirghātasamaniḥsvanaḥ saḥ mahābāṇaḥ vimuktaḥ kharasya urasi ca apatat
26. That mighty arrow, released by Rāma after he raised his bow, and sounding like a thunderbolt, then fell upon Khara's chest.
स पपात खरो भूमौ दह्यमानः शराग्निना ।
रुद्रेणैव विनिर्दग्धः श्वेतारण्ये यथान्धकः ॥२७॥
27. sa papāta kharo bhūmau dahyamānaḥ śarāgninā ,
rudreṇaiva vinirdagdhaḥ śvetāraṇye yathāndhakaḥ.
27. saḥ papāta kharaḥ bhūmau dahyamānaḥ śarāgninā
rudreṇa eva vinirdagdhaḥ śvetāraṇye yathā andhakaḥ
27. śarāgninā dahyamānaḥ saḥ kharaḥ bhūmau papāta,
yathā rudreṇa eva śvetāraṇye andhakaḥ vinirdagdhaḥ
27. Khara fell to the ground, being consumed by the fire of the arrows, just as Andhaka was completely burnt by Rudra himself in the Śvetāraṇya forest.
स वृत्र इव वज्रेण फेनेन नमुचिर्यथा ।
बलो वेन्द्राशनिहतो निपपात हतः खरः ॥२८॥
28. sa vṛtra iva vajreṇa phenena namuciryathā ,
balo vendrāśanihato nipapāta hataḥ kharaḥ.
28. saḥ vṛtraḥ iva vajreṇa phenena namuciḥ yathā
balaḥ vā indrāśanihataḥ nipapāta hataḥ kharaḥ
28. hataḥ saḥ kharaḥ,
vajreṇa vṛtraḥ iva,
phenena namuciḥ yathā,
vā indrāśanihataḥ balaḥ nipapāta
28. That Khara, now slain, fell down, just as Vṛtra (fell) by the thunderbolt, or Namuci by foam, or Bali (fell) struck by Indra's thunderbolt.
ततो राजर्षयः सर्वे संगताः परमर्षयः ।
सभाज्य मुदिता राममिदं वचनमब्रुवन् ॥२९॥
29. tato rājarṣayaḥ sarve saṃgatāḥ paramarṣayaḥ ,
sabhājya muditā rāmamidaṃ vacanamabruvan.
29. tataḥ rājarṣayaḥ sarve saṅgatāḥ paramarṣayaḥ
sabhājya muditāḥ rāmam idam vacanam abruvan
29. tataḥ sarve rājarṣayaḥ paramarṣayaḥ saṅgatāḥ

29. Then all the royal sages and great sages assembled, and delighted, having praised Rāma, they spoke these words.
एतदर्थं महातेजा महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः ।
शरभङ्गाश्रमं पुण्यमाजगाम पुरंदरः ॥३०॥
30. etadarthaṃ mahātejā mahendraḥ pākaśāsanaḥ ,
śarabhaṅgāśramaṃ puṇyamājagāma puraṃdaraḥ.
30. etadartham mahātejāḥ mahendraḥ pākaśāsanaḥ
śarabhaṅgāśramam puṇyam ājagāma purandaraḥ
30. etadartham mahātejāḥ pākaśāsanaḥ purandaraḥ
mahendraḥ puṇyam śarabhaṅgāśramam ājagāma
30. For this purpose, the greatly glorious Mahendra, the subjugator of Pāka, Purandara, came to the sacred hermitage of Śarabhaṅga.
आनीतस्त्वमिमं देशमुपायेन महर्षिभिः ।
एषां वधार्थं क्रूराणां रक्षसां पापकर्मणाम् ॥३१॥
31. ānītastvamimaṃ deśamupāyena maharṣibhiḥ ,
eṣāṃ vadhārthaṃ krūrāṇāṃ rakṣasāṃ pāpakarmaṇām.
31. ānītaḥ tvam imam deśam upāyena maharṣibhiḥ
eṣām vadhārtham krūrāṇām rakṣasām pāpakarmaṇām
31. tvam imam deśam maharṣibhiḥ upāyena eṣām
krūrāṇām pāpakarmaṇām rakṣasām vadhārtham ānītaḥ
31. You were brought to this region by the great sages (maharṣi) through a stratagem, for the purpose of slaying these cruel rākṣasa-s, who perform evil deeds.
तदिदं नः कृतं कार्यं त्वया दशरथात्मज ।
सुखं धर्मं चरिष्यन्ति दण्डकेषु महर्षयः ॥३२॥
32. tadidaṃ naḥ kṛtaṃ kāryaṃ tvayā daśarathātmaja ,
sukhaṃ dharmaṃ cariṣyanti daṇḍakeṣu maharṣayaḥ.
32. tat idam naḥ kṛtam kāryam tvayā daśarathātmaja
sukham dharmam cariṣyanti daṇḍakeṣu maharṣayaḥ
32. daśarathātmaja tvayā tat idam naḥ kāryam kṛtam
maharṣayaḥ daṇḍakeṣu sukham dharmam cariṣyanti
32. So this task of ours has been accomplished by you, son of Daśaratha. The great sages (maharṣi) will now practice their natural law (dharma) happily in the Daṇḍaka forest.
एतस्मिन्नन्तरे वीरो लक्ष्मणः सह सीतया ।
गिरिदुर्गाद्विनिष्क्रम्य संविवेशाश्रमं सुखी ॥३३॥
33. etasminnantare vīro lakṣmaṇaḥ saha sītayā ,
giridurgādviniṣkramya saṃviveśāśramaṃ sukhī.
33. etasmin antare vīraḥ lakṣmaṇaḥ saha sītayā
giridurgāt viniṣkramya saṃviveśa āśramam sukhī
33. etasmin antare vīraḥ lakṣmaṇaḥ sītayā saha

33. Meanwhile, the heroic Lakṣmaṇa, together with Sītā, came out from the mountain fortress and happily entered the hermitage.
ततो रामस्तु विजयी पूज्यमानो महर्षिभिः ।
प्रविवेशाश्रमं वीरो लक्ष्मणेनाभिवादितः ॥३४॥
34. tato rāmastu vijayī pūjyamāno maharṣibhiḥ ,
praviveśāśramaṃ vīro lakṣmaṇenābhivāditaḥ.
34. tataḥ rāmaḥ tu vijayī pūjyamānaḥ maharṣibhiḥ
praviveśa āśramam vīraḥ lakṣmaṇena abhivāditaḥ
34. tataḥ vijayī vīraḥ rāmaḥ tu maharṣibhiḥ pūjyamānaḥ
lakṣmaṇena abhivāditaḥ āśramam praviveśa
34. Then, the victorious hero Rama, honored by the great sages and greeted by Lakshmana, entered the hermitage.
तं दृष्ट्वा शत्रुहन्तारं महर्षीणां सुखावहम् ।
बभूव हृष्टा वैदेही भर्तारं परिषस्वजे ॥३५॥
35. taṃ dṛṣṭvā śatruhantāraṃ maharṣīṇāṃ sukhāvaham ,
babhūva hṛṣṭā vaidehī bhartāraṃ pariṣasvaje.
35. tam dṛṣṭvā śatruhantāram maharṣīṇām sukhāvaham
babhūva hṛṣṭā vaidehī bhartāram pariṣasvaje
35. vaidehī tam śatruhantāram maharṣīṇām sukhāvaham
dṛṣṭvā hṛṣṭā babhūva bhartāram pariṣasvaje
35. Seeing him, the destroyer of enemies and bringer of happiness to the great sages, Vaidehī (Sita) became delighted and embraced her husband.
