पुनः प्राप्ते वसन्ते तु पूर्णः संवत्सरो ऽभवत् ।
अभिवाद्य वसिष्ठं च न्यायतः प्रतिपूज्य च ॥१॥

अब्रवीत् प्रश्रितं वाक्यं प्रसवार्थं द्विजोत्तमम् ।
यज्ञो मे क्रियतां विप्र यथोक्तं मुनिपुंगव ॥२॥
2. abravīt praśritaṃ vākyaṃ prasavārthaṃ dvijottamam ,
yajño me kriyatāṃ vipra yathoktaṃ munipuṃgava.

2. He spoke humble words to the best of Brahmins for the sake of progeny: 'O Brahmin, O foremost of sages, let my Vedic ritual (yajña) be performed as prescribed.'
यथा न विघ्नः क्रियते यज्ञाङ्गेषु विधीयताम् ।
भवान् स्निग्धः सुहृन्मह्यं गुरुश्च परमो महान् ॥३॥
3. yathā na vighnaḥ kriyate yajñāṅgeṣu vidhīyatām ,
bhavān snigdhaḥ suhṛnmahyaṃ guruśca paramo mahān.

bhavān snigdhaḥ suhṛt mahyam guruḥ ca paramaḥ mahān

3. Let arrangements be made concerning the components of the sacrifice (yajñāṅga) so that no impediment (vighna) arises. You are affectionate, a true friend to me, and my supreme, great preceptor (guru).
वोढव्यो भवता चैव भारो यज्ञस्य चोद्यतः ।
तथेति च स राजानमब्रवीद्द्विजसत्तमः ॥४॥
4. voḍhavyo bhavatā caiva bhāro yajñasya codyataḥ ,
tatheti ca sa rājānamabravīddvijasattamaḥ.

tathā iti ca saḥ rājānam abravīt dvijasattamaḥ

4. And indeed, the initiated burden of the ritual (yajña) must be borne by you. That best of brahmins (dvija) then said to the king, 'So be it.'
करिष्ये सर्वमेवैतद्भवता यत् समर्थितम् ।
ततो ऽब्रवीद्द्विजान् वृद्धान्यज्ञकर्मसु निष्ठितान् ॥५॥
5. kariṣye sarvamevaitadbhavatā yat samarthitam ,
tato'bravīddvijān vṛddhānyajñakarmasu niṣṭhitān.
5. kariṣye sarvam eva etat bhavatā yat samarthitam
tataḥ abravīt dvijān vṛddhān yajñakarmasu niṣṭhitān
5. bhavatā yat samarthitam etat sarvam eva kariṣye

5. I will accomplish all this that has been arranged by you. Then he addressed the elder brahmins (dvija) who were accomplished in the performance of rituals (yajña).
स्थापत्ये निष्ठितांश्चैव वृद्धान्परमधार्मिकान् ।
कर्मान्तिकाञ् शिल्पकारान् वर्धकीन् खनकानपि ॥६॥
6. sthāpatye niṣṭhitāṃścaiva vṛddhānparamadhārmikān ,
karmāntikāñ śilpakārān vardhakīn khanakānapi.
6. sthāpatye niṣṭhitān ca eva vṛddhān paramadhārmikān
karmāntikān śilpakārān vardhakīn khanakān api
6. ca eva sthāpatye niṣṭhitān paramadhārmikān vṛddhān

6. And similarly, the elder, supremely righteous (dharma) men skilled in architecture. Also, the laborers, craftsmen, carpenters, and miners.
गणकाञ् शिल्पिनश्चैव तथैव नटनर्तकान् ।
तथा शुचीञ् शास्त्रविदः पुरुषान् सुबहुश्रुतान् ॥७॥
7. gaṇakāñ śilpinaścaiva tathaiva naṭanartakān ,
tathā śucīñ śāstravidaḥ puruṣān subahuśrutān.
7. gaṇakān śilpinaḥ ca eva tathā eva naṭanartakān
tathā śucīn śāstravidaḥ puruṣān subahuśrutān
7. gaṇakān ca śilpinaḥ ca eva tathā eva naṭanartakān

7. Accountants and artisans, and also, actors and dancers. And similarly, pure, scripture-knowing, and very learned men.
यज्ञकर्म समीहन्तां भवन्तो राजशासनात् ।
इष्टका बहुसाहस्री शीघ्रमानीयतामिति ॥८॥
8. yajñakarma samīhantāṃ bhavanto rājaśāsanāt ,
iṣṭakā bahusāhasrī śīghramānīyatāmiti.
8. yajñakarma samīhantām bhavantaḥ rājaśāsanāt
iṣṭakā bahusāhasrī śīghram ānīyatām iti

8. May you all, by royal decree, undertake the work of the Vedic ritual (yajña). Let thousands of bricks be brought quickly!
औपकार्याः क्रियन्तां च राज्ञां बहुगुणान्विताः ।
ब्राह्मणावसथाश्चैव कर्तव्याः शतशः शुभाः ॥९॥
9. aupakāryāḥ kriyantāṃ ca rājñāṃ bahuguṇānvitāḥ ,
brāhmaṇāvasathāścaiva kartavyāḥ śataśaḥ śubhāḥ.
9. aupakāryāḥ kriyantām ca rājñām bahuguṇānvitāḥ
brāhmaṇāvasathāḥ ca eva kartavyāḥ śataśaḥ śubhāḥ
9. rājñām bahuguṇānvitāḥ aupakāryāḥ ca kriyantām

9. And royal residences, endowed with many excellent qualities, should be constructed for the kings. Moreover, hundreds of auspicious dwellings for brahmins should also be built.
भक्ष्यान्नपानैर्बहुभिः समुपेताः सुनिष्ठिताः ।
तथा पौरजनस्यापि कर्तव्या बहुविस्तराः ॥१०॥
10. bhakṣyānnapānairbahubhiḥ samupetāḥ suniṣṭhitāḥ ,
tathā paurajanasyāpi kartavyā bahuvistarāḥ.
10. bhakṣyānnapānaiḥ bahubhiḥ samupetāḥ suniṣṭhitāḥ
tathā paurajanasya api kartavyāḥ bahuvistarāḥ
10. bhakṣyānnapānaiḥ bahubhiḥ samupetāḥ suniṣṭhitāḥ

10. These (residences) should be well-appointed, furnished with abundant food and drink. Likewise, many extensive (dwellings) should also be constructed for the urban populace.
आवासा बहुभक्ष्या वै सर्वकामैरुपस्थिताः ।
तथा जानपदस्यापि जनस्य बहुशोभनम् ॥११॥
11. āvāsā bahubhakṣyā vai sarvakāmairupasthitāḥ ,
tathā jānapadasyāpi janasya bahuśobhanam.
11. āvāsāḥ bahubhakṣyā vai sarvakāmaiḥ upasthitāḥ
tathā jānapadasya api janasya bahuśobhanam
11. āvāsāḥ vai bahubhakṣyā sarvakāmaiḥ upasthitāḥ
tathā jānapadasya janasya api bahuśobhanam
11. Dwellings should indeed be made, abundant in various foods and supplied with all desired comforts. Likewise, for the people of the countryside, a very splendid arrangement (should be made).
दातव्यमन्नं विधिवत् सत्कृत्य न तु लीलया ।
सर्वे वर्णा यथा पूजां प्राप्नुवन्ति सुसत्कृताः ॥१२॥
12. dātavyamannaṃ vidhivat satkṛtya na tu līlayā ,
sarve varṇā yathā pūjāṃ prāpnuvanti susatkṛtāḥ.
12. dātavyam annam vidhivat satkṛtya na tu līlayā
sarve varṇāḥ yathā pūjām prāpnuvanti susatkṛtāḥ
12. annam vidhivat satkṛtya na tu līlayā dātavyam
yathā sarve susatkṛtāḥ varṇāḥ pūjām prāpnuvanti
12. Food should be given properly and respectfully, not carelessly. This is so that all social classes (varṇāḥ), when appropriately honored, receive their due respect.
न चावज्ञा प्रयोक्तव्या कामक्रोधवशादपि ।
यज्ञकर्मसु ये ऽव्यग्राः पुरुषाः शिल्पिनस्तथा ॥१३॥
13. na cāvajñā prayoktavyā kāmakrodhavaśādapi ,
yajñakarmasu ye'vyagrāḥ puruṣāḥ śilpinastathā.
13. na ca avajñā prayoktavyā kāmakrodhavaśāt api
yajñakarmasu ye avyagrāḥ puruṣāḥ śilpinaḥ tathā
13. ca na avajñā kāmakrodhavaśāt api prayoktavyā ye
avyagrāḥ puruṣāḥ yajñakarmasu tathā śilpinaḥ
13. And disrespect should not be shown, even under the sway of desire and anger. Those individuals (puruṣāḥ) who are diligent in their sacred duties (yajña-karma), and similarly, the artisans...
तेषामपि विशेषेण पूजा कार्या यथाक्रमम् ।
यथा सर्वं सुविहितं न किं चित् परिहीयते ॥१४॥
14. teṣāmapi viśeṣeṇa pūjā kāryā yathākramam ,
yathā sarvaṃ suvihitaṃ na kiṃ cit parihīyate.
14. teṣām api viśeṣeṇa pūjā kāryā yathākramam
yathā sarvam suvihitam na kim cit parihīyate
14. api teṣām viśeṣeṇa yathākramam pūjā kāryā
yathā sarvam suvihitam kim cit na parihīyate
14. To them also, special honor (pūjā) should be shown, in the appropriate sequence, so that nothing that has been properly arranged is overlooked.
तथा भवन्तः कुर्वन्तु प्रीतिस्निग्धेन चेतसा ।
ततः सर्वे समागम्य वसिष्ठमिदमब्रुवन् ॥१५॥
15. tathā bhavantaḥ kurvantu prītisnigdhena cetasā ,
tataḥ sarve samāgamya vasiṣṭhamidamabruvan.
15. tathā bhavantaḥ kurvantu prītisnigdhena cetasā
tataḥ sarve samāgamya vasiṣṭham idam abruvan
15. tathā bhavantaḥ prītisnigdhena cetasā kurvantu
tataḥ sarve samāgamya idam vasiṣṭham abruvan
15. Therefore, may you all act with a mind softened by affection. Following this, everyone, having assembled, spoke these words to Vasiṣṭha.
यथोक्तं तत् करिष्यामो न किं चित् परिहास्यते ।
ततः सुमन्त्रमाहूय वसिष्ठो वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥१६॥
16. yathoktaṃ tat kariṣyāmo na kiṃ cit parihāsyate ,
tataḥ sumantramāhūya vasiṣṭho vākyamabravīt.
16. yathoktam tat kariṣyāmaḥ na kim cit parihāsyate
tataḥ sumantram āhūya vasiṣṭhaḥ vākyam abravīt
16. yathoktam tat kariṣyāmaḥ na kim cit parihāsyate
tataḥ vasiṣṭhaḥ sumantram āhūya vākyam abravīt
16. We will do exactly as instructed; nothing will be left undone. Then, Vasishtha, having summoned Sumantra, spoke these words.
निमन्त्रयस्य नृपतीन्पृथिव्यां ये च धार्मिकाः ।
ब्राह्मणान् क्षत्रियान् वैश्याञ् शूद्रांश्चैव सहस्रशः ॥१७॥
17. nimantrayasya nṛpatīnpṛthivyāṃ ye ca dhārmikāḥ ,
brāhmaṇān kṣatriyān vaiśyāñ śūdrāṃścaiva sahasraśaḥ.
17. nimantrayasva nṛpatīn pṛthivyām ye ca dhārmikāḥ
brāhmaṇān kṣatriyān vaiśyān śūdrān ca eva sahasraśaḥ
17. pṛthivyām ye ca dhārmikāḥ nṛpatīn nimantrayasva ca
brāhmaṇān kṣatriyān vaiśyān śūdrān eva sahasraśaḥ
17. Invite the kings on earth, especially those who uphold natural law (dharma). Also invite thousands of Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras.
समानयस्व सत्कृत्य सर्वदेशेषु मानवान् ।
मिथिलाधिपतिं शूरं जनकं सत्यविक्रमम् ॥१८॥
18. samānayasva satkṛtya sarvadeśeṣu mānavān ,
mithilādhipatiṃ śūraṃ janakaṃ satyavikramam.
18. samānayasva satkṛtya sarvadeśeṣu mānavān
mithilādhipatim śūram janakam satyavikramam
18. satkṛtya sarvadeśeṣu mānavān samānayasva
śūram satyavikramam mithilādhipatim janakam
18. Respectfully gather people from all regions. Also, bring Janaka, the heroic ruler of Mithila, who possesses true valor.
निष्ठितं सर्वशास्त्रेषु तथा वेदेषु निष्ठितम् ।
तमानय महाभागं स्वयमेव सुसत्कृतम् ।
पूर्वसंबन्धिनं ज्ञात्वा ततः पूर्वं ब्रवीमि ते ॥१९॥
19. niṣṭhitaṃ sarvaśāstreṣu tathā vedeṣu niṣṭhitam ,
tamānaya mahābhāgaṃ svayameva susatkṛtam ,
pūrvasaṃbandhinaṃ jñātvā tataḥ pūrvaṃ bravīmi te.
19. niṣṭhitam sarvaśāstreṣu tathā vedeṣu
niṣṭhitam tam ānaya mahābhāgam
svayam eva susatkṛtam pūrvasambandhinam
jñātvā tataḥ pūrvam bravīmi te
19. sarvaśāstreṣu tathā vedeṣu niṣṭhitam
niṣṭhitam tam mahābhāgam susatkṛtam
svayam eva ānaya pūrvasambandhinam
jñātvā tataḥ te pūrvam bravīmi
19. He is accomplished in all scriptures and similarly well-versed in the Vedas. Bring that illustrious, well-honored person yourself. I tell you this instruction first because I recognize him as a former relative.
तथा काशिपतिं स्निग्धं सततं प्रियवादिनम् ।
सद्वृत्तं देवसंकाशं स्वयमेवानयस्व ह ॥२०॥
20. tathā kāśipatiṃ snigdhaṃ satataṃ priyavādinam ,
sadvṛttaṃ devasaṃkāśaṃ svayamevānayasva ha.
20. tathā kāśipatim snigdham satatam priyavādinam
sadvṛttam devasaṃkāśam svayam eva ānayasva ha
20. tathā snigdham satatam priyavādinam sadvṛttam
devasaṃkāśam kāśipatim svayam eva ha ānayasva
20. Similarly, you yourself should bring here the lord of Kashi, who is affectionate, always speaks pleasingly, possesses good conduct, and resembles a deity.
तथा केकयराजानं वृद्धं परमधार्मिकम् ।
श्वशुरं राजसिंहस्य सपुत्रं तमिहानय ॥२१॥
21. tathā kekayarājānaṃ vṛddhaṃ paramadhārmikam ,
śvaśuraṃ rājasiṃhasya saputraṃ tamihānaya.
21. tathā kekayarājānam vṛddham paramadhārmikam
śvaśuram rājasiṃhasya saputram tam iha ānaya
21. tathā vṛddham paramadhārmikam rājasiṃhasya
śvaśuram saputram tam kekayarājānam iha ānaya
21. Similarly, bring here that aged, supremely righteous (dharma) King of Kekaya, who is the father-in-law of the lion among kings, accompanied by his son.
अङ्गेश्वरं महाभागं लोमपादं सुसत्कृतम् ।
वयस्यं राजसिंहस्य तमानय यशस्विनम् ॥२२॥
22. aṅgeśvaraṃ mahābhāgaṃ lomapādaṃ susatkṛtam ,
vayasyaṃ rājasiṃhasya tamānaya yaśasvinam.
22. aṅgeśvaram mahābhāgam lomapādam susatkṛtam
vayasyam rājasiṃhasya tam ānaya yaśasvinam
22. rājasiṃhasya vayasyam susatkṛtam yaśasvinam
mahābhāgam aṅgeśvaram lomapādam tam ānaya
22. Bring here that glorious, highly fortunate Lomapada, the lord of Anga, who is greatly honored and a friend of the lion among kings.
प्राचीनान् सिन्धुसौवीरान् सौराष्ठ्रेयांश्च पार्थिवान् ।
दाक्षिणात्यान्नरेन्द्रांश्च समस्तानानयस्व ह ॥२३॥
23. prācīnān sindhusauvīrān saurāṣṭhreyāṃśca pārthivān ,
dākṣiṇātyānnarendrāṃśca samastānānayasva ha.
23. prācīnān sindhusauvīrān saurāṣṭreyān ca pārthivān
dākṣiṇātyān narendrān ca samastān ānayasva ha
23. ha samastān prācīnān sindhusauvīrān saurāṣṭreyān
ca pārthivān dākṣiṇātyān narendrān ca ānayasva
23. Indeed, bring all the kings from the East, the kings of Sindhu-Sauvira, those from Saurashtra, and the kings from the South.
सन्ति स्निग्धाश्च ये चान्ये राजानः पृथिवीतले ।
तानानय यथाक्षिप्रं सानुगान् सहबान्धवान् ॥२४॥
24. santi snigdhāśca ye cānye rājānaḥ pṛthivītale ,
tānānaya yathākṣipraṃ sānugān sahabāndhavān.
24. santi snigdhāḥ ca ye ca anye rājānaḥ pṛthivītale
tān ānaya yathākṣipram sānugān sahabāndhavān
24. ye ca anye snigdhāḥ rājānaḥ ca pṛthivītale santi
tān sānugān sahabāndhavān yathākṣipram ānaya
24. Bring all those friendly kings and others who are on the surface of the earth, along with their followers and kinsmen, as quickly as possible.
वसिष्ठवाक्यं तच्छ्रुत्वा सुमन्त्रस्त्वरितस्तदा ।
व्यादिशत् पुरुषांस्तत्र राज्ञामानयने शुभान् ॥२५॥
25. vasiṣṭhavākyaṃ tacchrutvā sumantrastvaritastadā ,
vyādiśat puruṣāṃstatra rājñāmānayane śubhān.
25. vasiṣṭhavākyam tat śrutvā sumantraḥ tvaritaḥ tadā
vyādiśat puruṣān tatra rājñām ānayane śubhān
25. tat vasiṣṭhavākyam śrutvā tadā sumantraḥ tvaritaḥ
tatra śubhān puruṣān rājñām ānayane vyādiśat
25. Having heard those words of Vasiṣṭha, Sumantra then swiftly commanded auspicious men there for the purpose of bringing the kings.
स्वयमेव हि धर्मात्मा प्रययौ मुनिशासनात् ।
सुमन्त्रस्त्वरितो भूत्वा समानेतुं महीक्षितः ॥२६॥
26. svayameva hi dharmātmā prayayau muniśāsanāt ,
sumantrastvarito bhūtvā samānetuṃ mahīkṣitaḥ.
26. svayam eva hi dharmātmā prāyayau muniśāsanāt
sumantraḥ tvaritaḥ bhūtvā samānetum mahīkṣitaḥ
26. hi dharmātmā sumantraḥ svayam eva tvaritaḥ
bhūtvā muniśāsanāt mahīkṣitaḥ samānetum prāyayau
26. Indeed, the dutiful (dharmātmā) Sumantra himself, having become swift, set out by the command of the sage to gather the kings.
ते च कर्मान्तिकाः सर्वे वसिष्ठाय च धीमते ।
सर्वं निवेदयन्ति स्म यज्ञे यदुपकल्पितम् ॥२७॥
27. te ca karmāntikāḥ sarve vasiṣṭhāya ca dhīmate ,
sarvaṃ nivedayanti sma yajñe yadupakalpitam.
27. te ca karmāntikāḥ sarve vasiṣṭhāya ca dhīmate
sarvam nivedayanti sma yajñe yat upakalpitam
27. te sarve karmāntikāḥ ca vasiṣṭhāya dhīmate ca
yajñe yat upakalpitam sarvam nivedayanti sma
27. And all those artisans reported everything that had been prepared for the Vedic ritual (yajña) to the intelligent Vasiṣṭha.
ततः प्रीतो द्विजश्रेष्ठस्तान् सर्वान्पुनरब्रवीत् ।
अवज्ञया न दातव्यं कस्य चिल् लीलयापि वा ।
अवज्ञया कृतं हन्याद्दातारं नात्र संशयः ॥२८॥
28. tataḥ prīto dvijaśreṣṭhastān sarvānpunarabravīt ,
avajñayā na dātavyaṃ kasya cil līlayāpi vā ,
avajñayā kṛtaṃ hanyāddātāraṃ nātra saṃśayaḥ.
28. tataḥ prītaḥ dvijaśreṣṭaḥ tān sarvān
punaḥ abravīt avajñayā na dātavyam
kasyacit līlayā api vā avajñayā
kṛtam hanyāt dātāram na atra saṃśayaḥ
28. tataḥ prītaḥ dvijaśreṣṭaḥ tān sarvān
punaḥ abravīt kasyacit avajñayā
līlayā api vā na dātavyam avajñayā
kṛtam dātāram hanyāt atra saṃśayaḥ na
28. Then, the foremost among the twice-born, being pleased, spoke again to all of them: "Nothing should be given with disrespect to anyone, not even in jest. What is given with contempt would certainly harm the giver; there is no doubt about this."
ततः कैश्चिदहोरात्रैरुपयाता महीक्षितः ।
बहूनि रत्नान्यादाय राज्ञो दशरथस्य ह ॥२९॥
29. tataḥ kaiścidahorātrairupayātā mahīkṣitaḥ ,
bahūni ratnānyādāya rājño daśarathasya ha.
29. tataḥ kaiścit ahorātraiḥ upayātāḥ mahīkṣitaḥ
bahūni ratnāni ādāya rājñaḥ daśarathasya ha
29. tataḥ kaiścit ahorātraiḥ mahīkṣitaḥ bahūni
ratnāni ādāya daśarathasya rājñaḥ upayātāḥ ha
29. Then, after a few days and nights, kings arrived, bringing many jewels for King Daśaratha.
ततो वसिष्ठः सुप्रीतो राजानमिदमब्रवीत् ।
उपयाता नरव्याघ्र राजानस्तव शासनात् ॥३०॥
30. tato vasiṣṭhaḥ suprīto rājānamidamabravīt ,
upayātā naravyāghra rājānastava śāsanāt.
30. tataḥ vasiṣṭhaḥ suprītaḥ rājānam idam abravīt
upayātāḥ naravyāghra rājānaḥ tava śāsanāt
30. tataḥ suprītaḥ vasiṣṭhaḥ rājānam idam abravīt
naravyāghra tava śāsanāt rājānaḥ upayātāḥ
30. Then, Vasiṣṭha, very pleased, spoke this to the king: "O tiger among men, kings have arrived at your command."
मयापि सत्कृताः सर्वे यथार्हं राजसत्तमाः ।
यज्ञियं च कृतं राजन्पुरुषैः सुसमाहितैः ॥३१॥
31. mayāpi satkṛtāḥ sarve yathārhaṃ rājasattamāḥ ,
yajñiyaṃ ca kṛtaṃ rājanpuruṣaiḥ susamāhitaiḥ.
31. mayā api satkṛtāḥ sarve yathārham rājasattamāḥ
yajñiyam ca kṛtam rājan puruṣaiḥ susamāhitaiḥ
31. rājasattamāḥ rājan mayā api sarve yathārham
satkṛtāḥ ca susamāhitaiḥ puruṣaiḥ yajñiyam kṛtam
31. O best among kings, all were duly honored by me as deserved. And, O king, the preparations for the Vedic ritual (yajña) were carried out by very attentive men.
निर्यातु च भवान्यष्टुं यज्ञायतनमन्तिकात् ।
सर्वकामैरुपहृतैरुपेतं वै समन्ततः ॥३२॥
32. niryātu ca bhavānyaṣṭuṃ yajñāyatanamantikāt ,
sarvakāmairupahṛtairupetaṃ vai samantataḥ.
32. niryātu ca bhavān yaṣṭum yajñāyatanam antikāt
sarvakāmaiḥ upahṛtaiḥ upetam vai samantataḥ
32. bhavān ca yajñāyatanam antikāt sarvakāmaiḥ
upahṛtaiḥ samantataḥ vai upetam yaṣṭum niryātu
32. And let Your Majesty proceed to perform the Vedic ritual (yajña) at the sacrificial ground nearby, which is indeed fully furnished on all sides with all desired provisions.
तथा वसिष्ठवचनादृश्यशृङ्गस्य चोभयोः ।
शुभे दिवस नक्षत्रे निर्यातो जगतीपतिः ॥३३॥
33. tathā vasiṣṭhavacanādṛśyaśṛṅgasya cobhayoḥ ,
śubhe divasa nakṣatre niryāto jagatīpatiḥ.
33. tathā vasiṣṭhavacanāt ṛśyaśṛṅgasya ca ubhayoḥ
śubhe divasa nakṣatre niryātaḥ jagatīpatiḥ
33. tathā jagatīpatiḥ vasiṣṭhavacanāt ṛśyaśṛṅgasya
ca ubhayoḥ śubhe divasa nakṣatre niryātaḥ
33. Accordingly, the king (jagatīpati) departed by the counsel of both Vasiṣṭha and Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, on an auspicious day and under a favorable constellation.
ततो वसिष्ठप्रमुखाः सर्व एव द्विजोत्तमाः ।
ऋश्यशृङ्गं पुरस्कृत्य यज्ञकर्मारभंस्तदा ॥३४॥
34. tato vasiṣṭhapramukhāḥ sarva eva dvijottamāḥ ,
ṛśyaśṛṅgaṃ puraskṛtya yajñakarmārabhaṃstadā.

ṛśyaśṛṅgam puraskṛtya yajñakarma ārabhan tadā

34. Then, all the foremost Brahmins (dvijottamāḥ), led by Vasiṣṭha and with Ṛṣyaśṛṅga appointed as their chief, began the sacrificial rites (yajñakarma).
