स प्रविश्याश्रमपदं लक्ष्मणो राघवानुजः ।
अगस्त्यशिष्यमासाद्य वाक्यमेतदुवाच ह ॥१॥

1. Lakṣmaṇa, the younger brother of Rāghava, having entered the hermitage (āśrama) and found Agastya's disciple, then spoke these words.
राजा दशरथो नाम ज्येष्ठस्तस्य सुतो बली ।
रामः प्राप्तो मुनिं द्रष्टुं भार्यया सह सीतया ॥२॥
2. rājā daśaratho nāma jyeṣṭhastasya suto balī ,
rāmaḥ prāpto muniṃ draṣṭuṃ bhāryayā saha sītayā.

2. There is a king named Daśaratha. His eldest, powerful son is Rāma, who has arrived to see the sage along with his wife Sītā.
लक्ष्मणो नाम तस्याहं भ्राता त्ववरजो हितः ।
अनुकूलश्च भक्तश्च यदि ते श्रोत्रमागतः ॥३॥
3. lakṣmaṇo nāma tasyāhaṃ bhrātā tvavarajo hitaḥ ,
anukūlaśca bhaktaśca yadi te śrotramāgataḥ.
3. lakṣmaṇaḥ nāma tasya aham bhrātā tu avarajaḥ hitaḥ
| anukūlaḥ ca bhaktaḥ ca yadi te śrotram āgataḥ

3. I am Lakṣmaṇa by name, his younger brother, who is benevolent, devoted, and agreeable, if I have reached your ears (i.e., if you have heard of me).
ते वयं वनमत्युग्रं प्रविष्टाः पितृशासनात् ।
द्रष्टुमिच्छामहे सर्वे भगवन्तं निवेद्यताम् ॥४॥
4. te vayaṃ vanamatyugraṃ praviṣṭāḥ pitṛśāsanāt ,
draṣṭumicchāmahe sarve bhagavantaṃ nivedyatām.
4. te vayam vanam ati-ugram praviṣṭāḥ pitṛ-śāsanāt
| draṣṭum icchāmahe sarve bhagavantam nivedyatām
4. te vayam pitṛ-śāsanāt ati-ugram vanam praviṣṭāḥ
sarve bhagavantam draṣṭum icchāmahe nivedyatām
4. We (the aforementioned ones) have entered this extremely formidable forest due to our father's command. We all wish to see the venerable one (the sage); please inform him.
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा लक्ष्मणस्य तपोधनः ।
तथेत्युक्त्वाग्निशरणं प्रविवेश निवेदितुम् ॥५॥
5. tasya tadvacanaṃ śrutvā lakṣmaṇasya tapodhanaḥ ,
tathetyuktvāgniśaraṇaṃ praviveśa niveditum.
5. tasya tat vacanam śrutvā lakṣmaṇasya tapodhanaḥ |
tathā iti uktvā agni-śaraṇam praviveśa niveditum

5. Hearing that statement of Lakṣmaṇa, the ascetic (tapodhana) said 'So be it' and entered the fire-sanctuary to inform him.
स प्रविश्य मुनिश्रेष्ठं तपसा दुष्प्रधर्षणम् ।
कृताञ्जलिरुवाचेदं रामागमनमञ्जसा ॥६॥
6. sa praviśya muniśreṣṭhaṃ tapasā duṣpradharṣaṇam ,
kṛtāñjaliruvācedaṃ rāmāgamanamañjasā.
6. sa praviśya muniśreṣṭham tapasā duṣpradharṣaṇam
kṛtāñjaliḥ uvāca idam rāmāgamanam añjasā

6. Having entered, he, with folded hands, directly spoke these words about Rama's arrival to the foremost sage, who was unassailable due to his asceticism (tapas).
पुत्रौ दशरथस्येमौ रामो लक्ष्मण एव च ।
प्रविष्टावाश्रमपदं सीतया सह भार्यया ॥७॥
7. putrau daśarathasyemau rāmo lakṣmaṇa eva ca ,
praviṣṭāvāśramapadaṃ sītayā saha bhāryayā.

ca praviṣṭau āśramapadam sītayā saha bhāryayā

7. These two sons of Dasharatha, namely Rama and Lakshmana, have entered the hermitage (āśrama) accompanied by his wife, Sita.
द्रष्टुं भवन्तमायातौ शुश्रूषार्थमरिंदमौ ।
यदत्रानन्तरं तत्त्वमाज्ञापयितुमर्हसि ॥८॥
8. draṣṭuṃ bhavantamāyātau śuśrūṣārthamariṃdamau ,
yadatrānantaraṃ tattvamājñāpayitumarhasi.
8. draṣṭum bhavantam āyātau śuśrūṣārtham ariṃdamau
yat atra anantaram tattvam ājñāpayitum arhasi
8. ariṃdamau bhavantam draṣṭum śuśrūṣārtham āyātau.
yad atra anantaram tattvam tat ājñāpayitum arhasi.
8. These two vanquishers of foes have come to see you and to offer service. Please instruct us on what should be done next in this matter.
ततः शिष्यादुपश्रुत्य प्राप्तं रामं सलक्ष्मणम् ।
वैदेहीं च महाभागामिदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥९॥
9. tataḥ śiṣyādupaśrutya prāptaṃ rāmaṃ salakṣmaṇam ,
vaidehīṃ ca mahābhāgāmidaṃ vacanamabravīt.
9. tataḥ śiṣyāt upaśrutya prāptam rāmam salakṣmaṇam
vaidehīm ca mahābhāgām idam vacanam abravīt
9. tataḥ śiṣyāt prāptam salakṣmaṇam rāmam ca

9. Then, having heard from his disciple about the arrival of Rama accompanied by Lakshmana and the highly fortunate Sita, he spoke these words.
दिष्ट्या रामश्चिरस्याद्य द्रष्टुं मां समुपागतः ।
मनसा काङ्क्षितं ह्यस्य मयाप्यागमनं प्रति ॥१०॥
10. diṣṭyā rāmaścirasyādya draṣṭuṃ māṃ samupāgataḥ ,
manasā kāṅkṣitaṃ hyasya mayāpyāgamanaṃ prati.
10. diṣṭyā rāmaḥ cirasya adya draṣṭum mām samupāgataḥ
manasā kāṅkṣitam hi asya mayā api āgamanam prati
10. diṣṭyā adya rāmaḥ cirasya mām draṣṭum samupāgataḥ
hi mayā api manasā asya āgamanam prati kāṅkṣitam
10. Fortunately, Rama has arrived today to see me after a long time. Indeed, his arrival was also desired by me in my mind.
गम्यतां सत्कृतो रामः सभार्यः सहलक्ष्मणः ।
प्रवेश्यतां समीपं मे किं चासौ न प्रवेशितः ॥११॥
11. gamyatāṃ satkṛto rāmaḥ sabhāryaḥ sahalakṣmaṇaḥ ,
praveśyatāṃ samīpaṃ me kiṃ cāsau na praveśitaḥ.
11. gamyatām satkṛtaḥ rāmaḥ sabhāryaḥ sahalakṣmaṇaḥ
praveśyatām samīpam me kim ca asau na praveśitaḥ
11. satkṛtaḥ sabhāryaḥ sahalakṣmaṇaḥ rāmaḥ gamyatām
me samīpam praveśyatām ca kim asau na praveśitaḥ
11. Let Rama, respectfully honored, accompanied by his wife and Lakshmana, be escorted. Let him be brought into my presence. And why has he not been admitted yet?
एवमुक्तस्तु मुनिना धर्मज्ञेन महात्मना ।
अभिवाद्याब्रवीच्छिष्यस्तथेति नियताञ्जलिः ॥१२॥
12. evamuktastu muninā dharmajñena mahātmanā ,
abhivādyābravīcchiṣyastatheti niyatāñjaliḥ.
12. evam uktaḥ tu muninā dharmajñena mahātmanā
abhivādya abravīt śiṣyaḥ tathā iti niyatāñjaliḥ
12. evam dharmajñena mahātmanā muninā uktaḥ tu
niyatāñjaliḥ śiṣyaḥ abhivādya tathā iti abravīt
12. Thus addressed by the sage, who was a knower of (natural) law (dharma) and a great soul (mahātman), the disciple, having greeted him respectfully and with joined palms, replied, 'So be it.'
ततो निष्क्रम्य संभ्रान्तः शिष्यो लक्ष्मणमब्रवीत् ।
क्वासौ रामो मुनिं द्रष्टुमेतु प्रविशतु स्वयम् ॥१३॥
13. tato niṣkramya saṃbhrāntaḥ śiṣyo lakṣmaṇamabravīt ,
kvāsau rāmo muniṃ draṣṭumetu praviśatu svayam.
13. tataḥ niṣkramya saṃbhrāntaḥ śiṣyaḥ lakṣmaṇam abravīt
kva asau rāmaḥ munim draṣṭum etu praviśatu svayam
13. tataḥ niṣkramya saṃbhrāntaḥ śiṣyaḥ lakṣmaṇam abravīt
asau rāmaḥ kva? munim draṣṭum svayam etu praviśatu
13. Then, the bewildered disciple, having gone outside, said to Lakshmana: 'Where is Rama? Let him come to see the sage and enter himself.'
ततो गत्वाश्रमपदं शिष्येण सह लक्ष्मणः ।
दर्शयामास काकुत्स्थं सीतां च जनकात्मजाम् ॥१४॥
14. tato gatvāśramapadaṃ śiṣyeṇa saha lakṣmaṇaḥ ,
darśayāmāsa kākutsthaṃ sītāṃ ca janakātmajām.
14. tataḥ gatvā āśramapadam śiṣyeṇa saha lakṣmaṇaḥ
darśayāmāsa kākutsthaṃ sītāṃ ca janakātmajām
14. lakṣmaṇaḥ śiṣyeṇa saha tataḥ āśramapadam gatvā
kākutsthaṃ ca sītāṃ janakātmajām darśayāmāsa
14. Then, Lakshmana, accompanied by the disciple, having reached the hermitage (āśrama) site, showed Rama, the descendant of Kakutstha, and Sita, Janaka's daughter.
तं शिष्यः प्रश्रितं वाक्यमगस्त्यवचनं ब्रुवन् ।
प्रावेशयद् यथान्यायं सत्कारार्थं सुसत्कृतम् ॥१५॥
15. taṃ śiṣyaḥ praśritaṃ vākyamagastyavacanaṃ bruvan ,
prāveśayad yathānyāyaṃ satkārārthaṃ susatkṛtam.
15. tam śiṣyaḥ praśritam vākyam agastyavacanam bruvan
prāveśayat yathānyāyam satkārārtham susatkṛtam
15. śiṣyaḥ praśritam agastyavacanam vākyam bruvan
susatkṛtam tam yathānyāyam satkārārtham prāveśayat
15. The disciple, speaking humble words that conveyed Agastya's message, properly led him (Rama), who was highly honored, inside for the purpose of hospitality.
प्रविवेश ततो रामः सीतया सहलक्ष्मणः ।
प्रशान्तहरिणाकीर्णमाश्रमं ह्यवलोकयन् ॥१६॥
16. praviveśa tato rāmaḥ sītayā sahalakṣmaṇaḥ ,
praśāntahariṇākīrṇamāśramaṃ hyavalokayan.
16. praviveśa tataḥ rāmaḥ sītayā sahalakṣmaṇaḥ
praśāntahariṇākīrṇam āśramam hi avalokayan
16. tataḥ rāmaḥ sītayā sahalakṣmaṇaḥ hi
praśāntahariṇākīrṇam āśramam avalokayan praviveśa
16. Then Rama, accompanied by Sita and Lakshmana, entered, observing the hermitage (āśrama) that was indeed filled with tranquil deer.
स तत्र ब्रह्मणः स्थानमग्नेः स्थानं तथैव च ।
विष्णोः स्थानं महेन्द्रस्य स्थानं चैव विवस्वतः ॥१७॥
17. sa tatra brahmaṇaḥ sthānamagneḥ sthānaṃ tathaiva ca ,
viṣṇoḥ sthānaṃ mahendrasya sthānaṃ caiva vivasvataḥ.
17. saḥ tatra brahmaṇaḥ sthānam agneḥ sthānam tathā eva ca
viṣṇoḥ sthānam mahendrasya sthānam ca eva vivasvataḥ
17. saḥ tatra brahmaṇaḥ sthānam agneḥ sthānam tathā eva ca
viṣṇoḥ sthānam mahendrasya sthānam ca eva vivasvataḥ
17. There, he saw the abode of Brahma, and similarly the abode of Agni, and the abode of Vishnu, and also the abode of Mahendra (Indra), and of Vivasvat.
सोमस्थानं भगस्थानं स्थानं कौबेरमेव च ।
धातुर्विधातुः स्थानं च वायोः स्थानं तथैव च ॥१८॥
18. somasthānaṃ bhagasthānaṃ sthānaṃ kauberameva ca ,
dhāturvidhātuḥ sthānaṃ ca vāyoḥ sthānaṃ tathaiva ca.
18. somasthānam bhagasthānam sthānam kauberam eva ca
dhātuḥ vidhātuḥ sthānam ca vāyoḥ sthānam tathaiva ca
18. somasthānam bhagasthānam kauberam sthānam eva
ca dhātuḥ vidhātuḥ ca vāyoḥ sthānam tathaiva ca
18. The abodes of Soma, Bhaga, and Kubera; likewise, the abodes of Dhātā, Vidhātā, and Vāyu.
ततः शिष्यैः परिवृतो मुनिरप्यभिनिष्पतत् ।
तं ददर्शाग्रतो रामो मुनीनां दीप्ततेजसं ।
अब्रवीद्वचनं वीरो लक्ष्मणं लक्ष्मिवर्धनम् ॥१९॥
19. tataḥ śiṣyaiḥ parivṛto munirapyabhiniṣpatat ,
taṃ dadarśāgrato rāmo munīnāṃ dīptatejasaṃ ,
abravīdvacanaṃ vīro lakṣmaṇaṃ lakṣmivardhanam.
19. tataḥ śiṣyaiḥ parivṛtaḥ muniḥ api
abhiniṣpatat tam dadarśa agrataḥ rāmaḥ
munīnām dīptatejasam abravīt
vacanam vīraḥ lakṣmaṇam lakṣmivardhanam
19. tataḥ śiṣyaiḥ parivṛtaḥ muniḥ api
abhiniṣpatat rāmaḥ tam dīptatejasam
munīnām agrataḥ dadarśa vīraḥ
lakṣmivardhanam lakṣmaṇam vacanam abravīt
19. Then, surrounded by his disciples, the sage also emerged. Rāma saw him in front, radiant among the sages. The valiant hero spoke these words to Lakṣmaṇa, the enhancer of prosperity.
एष लक्ष्मण निष्क्रामत्यगस्त्यो भगवानृषिः ।
औदार्येणावगच्छामि निधानं तपसामिमम् ॥२०॥
20. eṣa lakṣmaṇa niṣkrāmatyagastyo bhagavānṛṣiḥ ,
audāryeṇāvagacchāmi nidhānaṃ tapasāmimam.
20. eṣaḥ lakṣmaṇa niṣkrāmati agastyaḥ bhagavān ṛṣiḥ
audāryeṇa avagacchāmi nidhānam tapasām imam
20. lakṣmaṇa eṣaḥ bhagavān ṛṣiḥ agastyaḥ niṣkrāmati
audāryeṇa imam tapasām nidhānam avagacchāmi
20. Look, Lakṣmaṇa, the divine sage Agastya is emerging! By his nobility, I understand this one to be a treasure of austerities (tapas).
एवमुक्त्वा महाबाहुरगस्त्यं सूर्यवर्चसं ।
जग्राह परमप्रीतस्तस्य पादौ परंतपः ॥२१॥
21. evamuktvā mahābāhuragastyaṃ sūryavarcasaṃ ,
jagrāha paramaprītastasya pādau paraṃtapaḥ.
21. evam uktvā mahābāhuḥ agastyam sūryavarcasam
jagrāha paramaprītaḥ tasya pādau paraṃtapaḥ
21. evam uktvā mahābāhuḥ paraṃtapaḥ paramaprītaḥ

21. Having spoken thus, the mighty-armed Rāma, the scorcher of foes, greatly pleased, grasped the feet of Agastya, who shone with the brilliance of the sun.
अभिवाद्य तु धर्मात्मा तस्थौ रामः कृताञ्जलिः ।
सीतया सह वैदेह्या तदा राम सलक्ष्मणः ॥२२॥
22. abhivādya tu dharmātmā tasthau rāmaḥ kṛtāñjaliḥ ,
sītayā saha vaidehyā tadā rāma salakṣmaṇaḥ.
22. abhivādya tu dharmātmā tasthau rāmaḥ kṛtāñjaliḥ
sītayā saha vaidehyā tadā rāma salakṣmaṇaḥ
22. tadā dharmātmā rāmaḥ salakṣmaṇaḥ vaidehyā

22. Having respectfully greeted, the righteous Rāma (dharmātman) stood with folded hands. At that time, Rāma, accompanied by Lakṣmaṇa, stood together with Sītā, the princess of Videha.
प्रतिगृह्य च काकुत्स्थमर्चयित्वासनोदकैः ।
कुशलप्रश्नमुक्त्वा च आस्यतामिति सो ऽब्रवीत् ॥२३॥
23. pratigṛhya ca kākutsthamarcayitvāsanodakaiḥ ,
kuśalapraśnamuktvā ca āsyatāmiti so'bravīt.
23. pratigṛhya ca kākutstham arcayitvā āsana-udakaiḥ
kuśala-praśnam uktvā ca āsyatām iti saḥ abravīt
23. saḥ kākutstham pratigṛhya ca āsana-udakaiḥ arcayitvā
ca kuśala-praśnam uktvā āsyatām iti abravīt
23. And having welcomed Rāma (Kākutstha) and honored him with a seat and water, and having inquired about his welfare, he (the sage) said, "Please be seated."
अग्निं हुत्वा प्रदायार्घ्यमतिथिं प्रतिपूज्य च ।
वानप्रस्थेन धर्मेण स तेषां भोजनं ददौ ॥२४॥
24. agniṃ hutvā pradāyārghyamatithiṃ pratipūjya ca ,
vānaprasthena dharmeṇa sa teṣāṃ bhojanaṃ dadau.
24. agnim hutvā pradāya arghyam atithim pratipūjya ca
vānaprathena dharmeṇa saḥ teṣām bhojanam dadau
24. saḥ agnim hutvā arghyam pradāya atithim pratipūjya
ca vānaprathena dharmeṇa teṣām bhojanam dadau
24. Having offered into the fire, having presented the ritual offering (arghya), and having honored the guest, he, in accordance with the forest-dweller's way of life (dharma), gave them food.
प्रथमं चोपविश्याथ धर्मज्ञो मुनिपुंगवः ।
उवाच राममासीनं प्राञ्जलिं धर्मकोविदम् ॥२५॥
25. prathamaṃ copaviśyātha dharmajño munipuṃgavaḥ ,
uvāca rāmamāsīnaṃ prāñjaliṃ dharmakovidam.
25. prathamam ca upaviśya atha dharmajñaḥ munipuṅgavaḥ
uvāca rāmam āsīnam prāñjalim dharmakovidam
25. prathamam upaviśya atha ca dharmajñaḥ munipuṅgavaḥ

25. First, having sat down, the chief of sages, knowledgeable in righteousness (dharma), then spoke to Rāma, who was seated with folded hands and expert in moral law (dharma).
अन्यथा खलु काकुत्स्थ तपस्वी समुदाचरन् ।
दुःसाक्षीव परे लोके स्वानि मांसानि भक्षयेत् ॥२६॥
26. anyathā khalu kākutstha tapasvī samudācaran ,
duḥsākṣīva pare loke svāni māṃsāni bhakṣayet.
26. anyathā khalu kākutstha tapasvī samūdācaran
duḥsākṣī iva pare loke svāni māṃsāni bhakṣayet
26. kākutstha khalu tapasvī anyathā samūdācaran (saḥ)

26. Indeed, O Kakutstha, an ascetic who behaves otherwise (i.e., contrary to his duties), would, in the next world, consume his own flesh, just like a false witness.
राजा सर्वस्य लोकस्य धर्मचारी महारथः ।
पूजनीयश्च मान्यश्च भवान्प्राप्तः प्रियातिथिः ॥२७॥
27. rājā sarvasya lokasya dharmacārī mahārathaḥ ,
pūjanīyaśca mānyaśca bhavānprāptaḥ priyātithiḥ.
27. rājā sarvasya lokasya dharmacārī mahārathaḥ
pūjanīyaḥ ca mānyaḥ ca bhavān prāptaḥ priyātithiḥ

27. Your honor is the king of all the world, one who upholds natural law (dharma), and a great warrior. You are worthy of veneration and respect, and you have arrived as a beloved guest.
एवमुक्त्वा फलैर्मूलैः पुष्पैश्चान्यैश्च राघवम् ।
पूजयित्वा यथाकामं पुनरेव ततो ऽब्रवीत् ॥२८॥
28. evamuktvā phalairmūlaiḥ puṣpaiścānyaiśca rāghavam ,
pūjayitvā yathākāmaṃ punareva tato'bravīt.
28. evam uktvā phalaiḥ mūlaiḥ puṣpaiḥ ca anyaiḥ ca
rāghavam pūjayitvā yathākāmam punar eva tataḥ abravīt
28. evam uktvā,

28. Having spoken thus, and having honored Rama (Rāghava) with fruits, roots, flowers, and other items as much as desired, he then spoke again.
इदं दिव्यं महच्चापं हेमवज्रविभूषितम् ।
वैष्णवं पुरुषव्याघ्र निर्मितं विश्वकर्मणा ॥२९॥
29. idaṃ divyaṃ mahaccāpaṃ hemavajravibhūṣitam ,
vaiṣṇavaṃ puruṣavyāghra nirmitaṃ viśvakarmaṇā.
29. idam divyam mahat cāpam hemavajravibhūṣitam
vaiṣṇavam puruṣavyāghra nirmitam viśvakarmaṇā
29. puruṣavyāghra,
idam divyam mahat cāpam hemavajravibhūṣitam vaiṣṇavam (dhanus) viśvakarmaṇā nirmitam (asti)
29. O foremost among men (puruṣavyāghra), this divine and great bow, adorned with gold and diamonds, which belongs to Vishnu (Vaiṣṇava), was created by Vishwakarma (Viśvakarmā).
अमोघः सूर्यसंकाशो ब्रह्मदत्तः शरोत्तमः ।
दत्तो मम महेन्द्रेण तूणी चाक्षयसायकौ ॥३०॥
30. amoghaḥ sūryasaṃkāśo brahmadattaḥ śarottamaḥ ,
datto mama mahendreṇa tūṇī cākṣayasāyakau.

30. This unfailing and sun-like, supreme arrow was granted by Brahmā. It was also given to me by Mahendra, along with two quivers containing inexhaustible arrows.
संपूर्णौ निशितैर्बाणैर्ज्वलद्भिरिव पावकैः ।
महाराजत कोशो ऽयमसिर्हेमविभूषितः ॥३१॥
31. saṃpūrṇau niśitairbāṇairjvaladbhiriva pāvakaiḥ ,
mahārājata kośo'yamasirhemavibhūṣitaḥ.
31. saṃpūrṇau niśitaiḥ bāṇaiḥ jvaladbhiḥ iva
pāvakaiḥ mahārāja kośaḥ ayam asiḥ hemavibhūṣitaḥ
31. saṃpūrṇau niśitaiḥ bāṇaiḥ jvaladbhiḥ iva
pāvakaiḥ mahārāja ayam kośaḥ asiḥ hemavibhūṣitaḥ
31. These two quivers are completely filled with sharp arrows, which glow as if they were flames. O great king, this scabbard and this sword are adorned with gold.
अनेन धनुषा राम हत्वा संख्ये महासुरान् ।
आजहार श्रियं दीप्तां पुरा विष्णुर्दिवौकसाम् ॥३२॥
32. anena dhanuṣā rāma hatvā saṃkhye mahāsurān ,
ājahāra śriyaṃ dīptāṃ purā viṣṇurdivaukasām.
32. anena dhanuṣā rāma hatvā saṃkhye mahāsurān
ājahāra śriyam dīptām purā viṣṇuḥ divaukasām
32. rāma purā viṣṇuḥ anena dhanuṣā saṃkhye
mahāsurān hatvā dīptām śriyam divaukasām ājahāra
32. O Rāma, in the past, Viṣṇu, using this very bow, killed great demons in battle and restored the radiant prosperity (śrī) of the gods.
तद्धनुस्तौ च तूणीरौ शरं खड्गं च मानद ।
जयाय प्रतिगृह्णीष्व वज्रं वज्रधरो यथा ॥३३॥
33. taddhanustau ca tūṇīrau śaraṃ khaḍgaṃ ca mānada ,
jayāya pratigṛhṇīṣva vajraṃ vajradharo yathā.
33. tat dhanuḥ tau ca tūṇīrau śaram khaḍgam ca mānada
jayāya pratigṛhṇīṣva vajram vajradharaḥ yathā
33. mānada jayāya tat dhanuḥ tau tūṇīrau ca śaram
khaḍgam ca pratigṛhṇīṣva yathā vajradharaḥ vajram
33. O giver of honor, accept that bow, those two quivers, this arrow, and this sword for the sake of victory, just as the wielder of the thunderbolt (Indra) takes up the thunderbolt.
एवमुक्त्वा महातेजाः समस्तं तद्वरायुधम् ।
दत्त्वा रामाय भगवानगस्त्यः पुनरब्रवीत् ॥३४॥
34. evamuktvā mahātejāḥ samastaṃ tadvarāyudham ,
dattvā rāmāya bhagavānagastyaḥ punarabravīt.
34. evam uktvā mahātejāḥ samastam tadvarāyudham
dattvā rāmāya bhagavān agastyaḥ punaḥ abravīt
34. mahātejāḥ bhagavān agastyaḥ evam uktvā samastam
tadvarāyudham rāmāya dattvā punaḥ abravīt
34. Having thus spoken, the greatly effulgent and venerable Agastya, after giving all those excellent weapons to Rāma, spoke again.
