तादृशानां सहस्त्राणि जगतां यत्र सन्त्यथ ।
तादृगस्ति महच्चाण्डं चण्डमम्बरपीठवत् ॥ ११ ॥
tādṛśānāṃ sahastrāṇi jagatāṃ yatra santyatha ,
tādṛgasti mahaccāṇḍaṃ caṇḍamambarapīṭhavat 11
11. tādṛśānām sahasrāṇi jagatām yatra santi atha
tādṛk asti mahat ca aṇḍam caṇḍam ambara-pīṭhavat
11. yatra tādṛśānām jagatām sahasrāṇi santi,
atha tādṛk mahat caṇḍam aṇḍam ambara-pīṭhavat asti
11. Where thousands of such worlds exist, there is also such a great, formidable cosmic egg (aṇḍa), which is like a celestial altar.
तादृशानां सहस्राणि यत्राण्डानि करण्डकाः ।
तादृशोऽस्ति गतस्पन्दो विपुलाब्धिश्च सागरः ॥ १२ ॥
tādṛśānāṃ sahasrāṇi yatrāṇḍāni karaṇḍakāḥ ,
tādṛśo'sti gataspando vipulābdhiśca sāgaraḥ 12
12. tādṛśānām sahasrāṇi yatra aṇḍāni karaṇḍakāḥ
tādṛśaḥ asti gataspandaḥ vipula abdhiḥ ca sāgaraḥ
12. yatra tādṛśānām aṇḍāni sahasrāṇi karaṇḍakāḥ (santi),
tādṛśaḥ gataspandaḥ vipulaḥ abdhiḥ ca sāgaraḥ asti
12. Where thousands of such cosmic eggs (aṇḍa) are merely like small containers, there exists such a vast and motionless ocean, which is itself an ocean (sāgara).
तादृक्सागरलक्षाणि तरङ्गो यत्र पेलवः ।
तादृशः स्वविलासात्मा निर्मलोऽस्ति महार्णवः ॥ १३ ॥
tādṛksāgaralakṣāṇi taraṅgo yatra pelavaḥ ,
tādṛśaḥ svavilāsātmā nirmalo'sti mahārṇavaḥ 13
13. tādṛk sāgaralakṣāṇi taraṅgaḥ yatra pelavaḥ
tādṛśaḥ svavilāsātmā nirmalaḥ asti mahārṇavaḥ
13. yatra tādṛk sāgaralakṣāṇi pelavaḥ taraṅgaḥ
tādṛśaḥ svavilāsātmā nirmalaḥ mahārṇavaḥ asti
13. Where millions of such oceans are mere delicate waves, there exists such a great ocean, pure and whose very nature (ātman) is its own divine play.
तादृगब्धिसहस्राणि यस्योदरजलान्यथ ।
तादृशोऽस्ति पुमान्कश्चिदत्युच्चैर्भरिताकृतिः ॥ १४ ॥
tādṛgabdhisahasrāṇi yasyodarajalānyatha ,
tādṛśo'sti pumānkaścidatyuccairbharitākṛtiḥ 14
14. tādṛk abdhisahasrāṇi yasya udarajalāni atha
tādṛśaḥ asti pumān kaścit atyuccairbharitākṛtiḥ
14. atha yasya udarajalāni tādṛk abdhisahasrāṇi
tādṛśaḥ atyuccairbharitākṛtiḥ kaścit pumān asti
14. And whose inner waters are thousands of such oceans, there exists a certain such person (puruṣa) whose form is exceedingly vast and full.
तादृशानां नृणां लक्षैर्यस्य मालोरसि स्थिता ।
प्रधानं सर्वसत्तानां तादृशोऽस्ति परः पुमान् ॥ १५ ॥
tādṛśānāṃ nṛṇāṃ lakṣairyasya mālorasi sthitā ,
pradhānaṃ sarvasattānāṃ tādṛśo'sti paraḥ pumān 15
15. tādṛśānām nṛṇām lakṣaiḥ yasya mālā urasi sthitā
pradhānam sarvasattānām tādṛśaḥ asti paraḥ pumān
15. yasya urasi tādṛśānām nṛṇām lakṣaiḥ mālā sthitā
tādṛśaḥ sarvasattānām pradhānam paraḥ pumān asti
15. On whose chest rests a garland made of millions of such persons, such a supreme person (puruṣa) exists, who is the foremost of all beings.
तादृशानां सहस्राणि पुरुषाणां महात्मनाम् ।
स्फुरन्ति मण्डले यस्य स्वतनूरुहजालवत् ॥ १६ ॥
tādṛśānāṃ sahasrāṇi puruṣāṇāṃ mahātmanām ,
sphuranti maṇḍale yasya svatanūruhajālavat 16
16. tādṛśānām sahasrāṇi puruṣāṇām mahātmanām
sphuranti maṇḍale yasya svatanūruhajālavat
16. yasya maṇḍale tādṛśānām mahātmanām puruṣāṇām
sahasrāṇi svatanūruhajālavat sphuranti
16. Thousands of such great-souled persons (puruṣa) manifest in his sphere, just like a multitude of hairs on his own body.
तादृशोऽस्ति महादित्यः शतमन्यासु दृष्टिषु ।
या एताः कलनाः सर्वास्ता एतास्तस्य दीप्तयः ॥ १७ ॥
tādṛśo'sti mahādityaḥ śatamanyāsu dṛṣṭiṣu ,
yā etāḥ kalanāḥ sarvāstā etāstasya dīptayaḥ 17
17. tādṛśaḥ asti mahādityaḥ śatamanyāsu dṛṣṭiṣu
yāḥ etāḥ kalanāḥ sarvāḥ tāḥ etāḥ tasya dīptayaḥ
17. tādṛśaḥ mahādityaḥ śatamanyāsu dṛṣṭiṣu asti
yāḥ etāḥ sarvāḥ kalanāḥ tāḥ etāḥ tasya dīptayaḥ
17. There exists a magnificent sun (mahāditya) perceptible in countless ways. All these perceptions and manifestations are indeed but its radiations.
अस्यादित्यस्य दीप्तीनां ब्रह्माण्डास्त्रसरेणवः ।
मया चित्सूर्य इत्युक्तः सर्वमेतत्तपत्यसौ ॥ १८ ॥
asyādityasya dīptīnāṃ brahmāṇḍāstrasareṇavaḥ ,
mayā citsūrya ityuktaḥ sarvametattapatyasau 18
18. asya ādityasya dīptīnām brahmāṇḍāḥ trasareṇavaḥ
mayā citsūryaḥ iti uktaḥ sarvam etat tapati asau
18. asya ādityasya dīptīnām brahmāṇḍāḥ trasareṇavaḥ
asau mayā citsūryaḥ iti uktaḥ etat sarvam tapati
18. The universes (brahmāṇḍa) are merely motes of dust (trasareṇu) among the splendors of this sun (āditya). This very one, whom I have described as the sun of consciousness (citsūrya), illumines all of this.
विज्ञानात्मैव परमो भास्करो भाविताशयः ।
इमे ये भुवनाभोगास्तस्यैव त्रसरेणवः ॥ १९ ॥
vijñānātmaiva paramo bhāskaro bhāvitāśayaḥ ,
ime ye bhuvanābhogāstasyaiva trasareṇavaḥ 19
19. vijñānātmā eva paramaḥ bhāskaraḥ bhāvitāśayaḥ
ime ye bhuvanābhogāḥ tasya eva trasareṇavaḥ
19. vijñānātmā eva paramaḥ bhāvitāśayaḥ bhāskaraḥ
ime ye bhuvanābhogāḥ tasya eva trasareṇavaḥ
19. The self composed of pure knowledge (vijñānātman) itself is the supreme illuminator (bhāskara), whose nature is fully realized. All these expansive worlds (bhuvanābhoga) are merely motes of dust (trasareṇu) belonging to that very self.
विज्ञानपरमार्कस्य भासा भान्ति भवन्ति च ।
इमा जगदहर्लक्ष्म्यः क्वचिल्लक्ष्म्यो रवेरिव ॥ २० ॥
vijñānaparamārkasya bhāsā bhānti bhavanti ca ,
imā jagadaharlakṣmyaḥ kvacillakṣmyo raveriva 20
20. vijñānaparamārkasya bhāsā bhānti bhavanti ca
imāḥ jagadaharlakṣmyaḥ kvacit lakṣmyaḥ raveḥ iva
20. vijñānaparamārkasya bhāsā imāḥ jagadaharlakṣmyaḥ
bhānti ca bhavanti kvacit raveḥ lakṣmyaḥ iva
20. By the radiance of the supreme sun of knowledge (vijñānaparamārka), these daily splendors of the world (jagadaharlakṣmya) shine and come into existence. In some respects, they are like the splendors of an ordinary sun (ravi).
विज्ञानमात्रकचितात्मनि जन्तुजाते त्रैलोक्यमण्डपमणेरविकासभाजि ।
चिज्जन्मनोर्भवनसंभ्रमतावलेखाः सन्तीह रे न हि मनागपि शान्तमास्स्व ॥ २१ ॥
vijñānamātrakacitātmani jantujāte trailokyamaṇḍapamaṇeravikāsabhāji ,
cijjanmanorbhavanasaṃbhramatāvalekhāḥ santīha re na hi manāgapi śāntamāssva 21
21. vijñānamātracitātmani jantujāte
trailokyamaṇḍapamaṇeḥ avikāsabhāji
citjanmanoḥ bhavanasambhramatāvalekhāḥ
santi iha re na hi manāk api śāntam āsva
21. re,
vijñānamātracitātmani jantujāte trailokyamaṇḍapamaṇeḥ avikāsabhāji citjanmanoḥ bhavanasambhramatāvalekhāḥ iha santi.
na hi manāk api śāntam āsva.
21. Oh, among the multitude of living beings, whose individual self (ātman) is composed merely of consciousness, yet who do not shine forth or develop like the central jewel of the cosmic pavilion of the three worlds – here indeed are the signs of the agitation and bewilderment of existence for those born of consciousness. Therefore, do not remain peaceful even for a moment!
