पतितः खात्कदम्बाग्रे पत्रपुष्पफलाकुले ।
तूष्णीं निर्वृष्टमुक्तात्मा शृङ्गाग्र इव तोयदः ॥ २ ॥
patitaḥ khātkadambāgre patrapuṣpaphalākule ,
tūṣṇīṃ nirvṛṣṭamuktātmā śṛṅgāgra iva toyadaḥ 2
2. patitaḥ khāt kadamba-agre patra-puṣpa-phala-ākule
tūṣṇīm nirvṛṣṭa-mukta-ātmā śṛṅga-agre iva toyadaḥ
2. (aham) khāt patitaḥ kadamba-agre (tat ca) patra-puṣpa-phala-ākule (āsam).
(aham) tūṣṇīm (āsam),
nirvṛṣṭa-mukta-ātmā (āsam),
toyadaḥ iva śṛṅga-agre (āsam).
2. I fell from the sky onto the top of a kadamba tree, which was laden with leaves, flowers, and fruits. I was silent, with a self (ātman) freed as if having shed all its 'rain' (freed from the burden of action), just like a cloud settled motionlessly at a mountain peak.
अपश्यं तत्र दाशूरं शूरमिन्द्रियनिग्रहे ।
परेण तपसा युक्तं तेजसेव हुताशनम् ॥ ३ ॥
apaśyaṃ tatra dāśūraṃ śūramindriyanigrahe ,
pareṇa tapasā yuktaṃ tejaseva hutāśanam 3
3. apaśyam tatra dāśūram śūram indriya-nigrahe
pareṇa tapasā yuktam tejasā iva hutāśanam
3. tatra aham indriya-nigrahe śūram,
pareṇa tapasā yuktam dāśūram,
tejasā iva hutāśanam,
apaśyam.
3. There I saw Dāśūra, a hero in the control of his senses, endowed with supreme austerity (tapas), like a sacrificial fire (hutāśanam) accompanied by its own radiant brilliance.
तेजोभिर्देहनिष्क्रान्तैः काञ्चनीकृतभूतलम् ।
तापयन्तं प्रदेशं तं भुवनं भास्करो यथा ॥ ४ ॥
tejobhirdehaniṣkrāntaiḥ kāñcanīkṛtabhūtalam ,
tāpayantaṃ pradeśaṃ taṃ bhuvanaṃ bhāskaro yathā 4
4. tejobhiḥ deha-niṣkrantaiḥ kāñcanīkṛta-bhūtalam
tāpayantam pradeśam tam bhuvanam bhāskaraḥ yathā
4. tam pradeśam deha-niṣkrantaiḥ tejobhiḥ kāñcanīkṛta-bhūtalam tāpayantam,
bhāskaraḥ bhuvanam yathā
4. Making that entire region golden with the radiance emanating from his body, and heating it, just as the sun (scorches) the world.
मामथालोक्य संप्राप्तं दाशूरोऽर्घसपर्यया ।
वितीर्णविष्टरं पत्रपूजया पर्यपूजयत् ॥ ५ ॥
māmathālokya saṃprāptaṃ dāśūro'rghasaparyayā ,
vitīrṇaviṣṭaraṃ patrapūjayā paryapūjayat 5
5. mām atha ālokya samprāptam dāśūraḥ argha-saparyayā
vitīrṇa-viṣṭaram patra-pūjayā paryapūjayat
5. atha mām samprāptam ālokya,
dāśūraḥ argha-saparyayā vitīrṇa-viṣṭaram patra-pūjayā paryapūjayat
5. Then, seeing me arrived, Dāśūra honored me with an offering of hospitality (arghasaparyā), providing a seat and worshipping me with offerings of leaves.
दृष्टवांस्तमहं वृक्षं कोरकोत्तरकोटरम् ।
दाशूरस्येच्छया सर्वैरयतद्भिर्मृगव्रजैः ॥ ७ ॥
dṛṣṭavāṃstamahaṃ vṛkṣaṃ korakottarakoṭaram ,
dāśūrasyecchayā sarvairayatadbhirmṛgavrajaiḥ 7
7. dṛṣṭavān tam aham vṛkṣam koraka-uttara-koṭaram
dāśūrasya icchayā sarvaiḥ ayatadbhiḥ mṛga-vrajaiḥ
7. aham tam vṛkṣam dṛṣṭavān,
koraka-uttara-koṭaram,
dāśūrasya icchayā sarvaiḥ ayatadbhiḥ mṛga-vrajaiḥ
7. I saw that tree, whose hollow was filled with buds, and which, by Dāśūra's will, was frequented by all herds of deer who were at ease (not striving to leave or harm it).
सेव्यमानं वनमिव लतामण्डलमण्डितम् ।
स्मितेन विस्फुटमिव श्वसनस्फुरितच्छदम् ॥ ८ ॥
sevyamānaṃ vanamiva latāmaṇḍalamaṇḍitam ,
smitena visphuṭamiva śvasanasphuritacchadam 8
8. sevyamānam vanam iva latā-maṇḍala-maṇḍitam
smitena visphuṭam iva śvasana-sphurita-cchadam
8. vanam iva sevyamānam,
latā-maṇḍala-maṇḍitam,
smitena visphuṭam iva,
śvasana-sphurita-cchadam
8. (I saw that tree) being resorted to like a forest, adorned with circles of creepers, and appearing as if smiling with its leaves fluttering in the wind.
लताकोटिगतैर्भ्रान्तैश्चामरैरिन्दुसुन्दरैः ।
शुभ्राभ्रखण्डनिकरैः शरन्नभ इवावृतम् ॥ ९ ॥
latākoṭigatairbhrāntaiścāmarairindusundaraiḥ ,
śubhrābhrakhaṇḍanikaraiḥ śarannabha ivāvṛtam 9
9. latākoṭigataiḥ bhrāntaiḥ cāmaraiḥ indusundaraiḥ
śubhrābhrakhaṇḍanikaraiḥ śarannabhaḥ iva āvṛtam
9. āvṛtam śarannabhaḥ iva śubhrābhrakhaṇḍanikaraiḥ
indusundaraiḥ bhrāntaiḥ latākoṭigataiḥ cāmaraiḥ
9. It was covered, resembling the autumn sky adorned with masses of white cloud fragments, and with moon-like beautiful yak-tail whisks that fluttered amidst millions of creepers.
प्रालेयकणपद्धत्या मुक्तावल्याभ्यलंकृतम् ।
सर्वावयवमेवाच्छपुष्पपूरैः प्रपूरितम् ॥ १० ॥
prāleyakaṇapaddhatyā muktāvalyābhyalaṃkṛtam ,
sarvāvayavamevācchapuṣpapūraiḥ prapūritam 10
10. prāleyakaṇapaddhatyā muktāvalyā abhyalaṅkṛtam
sarvāyavam eva acchapuṣpapūraiḥ prapūritam

10. It was adorned by a path of frost particles and by a pearl necklace; indeed, every part of it was completely filled with masses of pure flowers.
विवाहायेव वेषेण पुष्पभारातिभारिणा ।
लताङ्गनानुषक्तेन नागरेण कृतोपमम् ॥ १२ ॥
vivāhāyeva veṣeṇa puṣpabhārātibhāriṇā ,
latāṅganānuṣaktena nāgareṇa kṛtopamam 12
12. vivāhāya iva veṣeṇa puṣpabhārātibhāriṇā
latāṅganānuṣaktena nāgareṇa kṛtopamam
12. vivāhāya iva puṣpabhārātibhāriṇā veṣeṇa

12. It was likened to a sophisticated gentleman, arrayed as if for a wedding with attire exceedingly heavy with loads of flowers, and associated with creeper-women.
मुनिबद्धोटजाकारलतामण्डपमण्डितम् ।
मञ्जरीभिः पताकाभिर्युक्तं पुरमहोत्सवे ॥ १३ ॥
munibaddhoṭajākāralatāmaṇḍapamaṇḍitam ,
mañjarībhiḥ patākābhiryuktaṃ puramahotsave 13
13. munibaddhoṭajākāralatāmaṇḍapamaṇḍitam

13. It was adorned with creeper-pavilions resembling huts built by sages, and equipped with clusters of blossoms and flags, like a city during a grand festival.
मृगकण्डूयनध्वस्तपुष्पधूलिविधूसरम् ।
प्रोत्सारितोपान्तवनं वृषमल्लमिवोत्थितम् ॥ १४ ॥
mṛgakaṇḍūyanadhvastapuṣpadhūlividhūsaram ,
protsāritopāntavanaṃ vṛṣamallamivotthitam 14

14. It was dusty with flower-pollen scattered by the scratching of deer, and its surrounding forest seemed pushed aside, as if it were a champion bull that had risen.
प्रवालारुणहस्तेन कुसुमस्मितशोभिना ।
मधुना घूर्णमानेन प्रान्तेन पुलकत्विषा ॥ १६ ॥

16. By Spring, which appears with hands red like young shoots, radiant with the smile of flowers, swaying gently, and whose edges glow with thrill.
नीरन्ध्रपुष्पपूर्णेन घूर्णितेन वनानिलैः ।
निद्रालुकुड्मलदृशा स्तबकस्तनधारिणा ॥ १७ ॥
nīrandhrapuṣpapūrṇena ghūrṇitena vanānilaiḥ ,
nidrālukuḍmaladṛśā stabakastanadhāriṇā 17
17. nīrandhrapuṣpapūrṇena ghūrṇitena vanānilaiḥ

17. By Spring, which is completely filled with dense flowers, swayed by forest winds, possessing eyes like sleepy buds, and bearing clusters as breasts.
पुष्पजालरजःपुञ्जकुङ्कुमारुणवाससा ।
लताविताननिलयवातायननिषङ्गिणा ॥ १८ ॥
puṣpajālarajaḥpuñjakuṅkumāruṇavāsasā ,
latāvitānanilayavātāyananiṣaṅgiṇā 18

18. By (the entity) whose garment is crimson like saffron, dyed by the accumulated pollen dust of numerous flowers; and by (the entity) clinging to the window of a dwelling nestled within arbours of vines.
नीलपुष्पलतादोलालीलालास्यविलासिना ।
आपादमस्तकप्रान्तं सर्वतो निर्मितालयम् ॥ १९ ॥
nīlapuṣpalatādolālīlālāsyavilāsinā ,
āpādamastakaprāntaṃ sarvato nirmitālayam 19

19. By (the entity) gracefully dancing and playing on swings made of blue-flowered vines, where dwellings are fully constructed everywhere from base to summit.
वृन्देन वनदेवीनां कोकिलालापशालिना ।
संदिग्धमञ्जरीजालमलिनेत्रेण भासिना ॥ २० ॥
vṛndena vanadevīnāṃ kokilālāpaśālinā ,
saṃdigdhamañjarījālamalinetreṇa bhāsinā 20

20. By a group of forest goddesses, graced by the calls of cuckoos, shining with eyes as dark as dense clusters of blossoms.
अवश्यायोपशमितरतिखेदैर्मदालसैः ।
पुष्पधूलिसमालब्धैराश्लिष्टैर्निबिडं मिथः ॥ २१ ॥
avaśyāyopaśamitaratikhedairmadālasaiḥ ,
puṣpadhūlisamālabdhairāśliṣṭairnibiḍaṃ mithaḥ 21
21. avaśyāyopaśamitaratikhedaiḥ madālasaiḥ
puṣpadhūlisamālabdhaiḥ āśliṣṭaiḥ nibiḍam mithaḥ
21. avaśyāyopaśamitaratikhedaiḥ madālasaiḥ
puṣpadhūlisamālabdhaiḥ āśliṣṭaiḥ nibiḍam mithaḥ
21. By those languid from passion, whose fatigue from lovemaking has been assuaged by dew, smeared with flower pollen, and mutually embraced tightly.
पुष्पान्तरान्तःपुरगैः किमपि प्रणयोचितम् ।
ध्वनद्भिरभितः स्वच्छमत्तालियुगलैर्वृतम् ॥ २२ ॥
puṣpāntarāntaḥpuragaiḥ kimapi praṇayocitam ,
dhvanadbhirabhitaḥ svacchamattāliyugalairvṛtam 22
22. puṣpāntarāntaḥpuragaiḥ kimapi praṇayocitam
dhvanadbhiḥ abhitaḥ svacchamattāliyugalaiḥ vṛtam
22. puṣpāntarāntaḥpuragaiḥ dhvanadbhiḥ
svacchamattāliyugalaiḥ abhitaḥ kimapi praṇayocitam vṛtam
22. It was surrounded by pairs of clean, intoxicated bees, buzzing all around, which, entering the inner chambers of flowers, were doing something befitting of love.
काननोपान्तनगरीघुंघुमाकर्णनेच्छया ।
क्षणमुत्कर्णमाशान्तचारुवर्वणटांकृतैः ॥ २३ ॥
kānanopāntanagarīghuṃghumākarṇanecchayā ,
kṣaṇamutkarṇamāśāntacāruvarvaṇaṭāṃkṛtaiḥ 23
23. kānanopāntanagarīghuṃghumākarnanecchayā
kṣaṇam utkarṇam āśāntacāruvarvaṇatāṃkṛtaiḥ
23. kānanopāntanagarīghuṃghumākarnanecchayā
kṣaṇam utkarṇam āśāntacāruvarvaṇatāṃkṛtaiḥ
23. For a moment, with ears pricked up, their charming chirping sounds having ceased, due to their desire to hear the humming sounds of the town at the edge of the forest.
क्षणं दलाग्रविश्रान्तमुग्धमुग्धशिरस्तया ।
पश्यद्भिरिन्द्वंशुकवज्जालामर्णवमेखलाम् ॥ २४ ॥
kṣaṇaṃ dalāgraviśrāntamugdhamugdhaśirastayā ,
paśyadbhirindvaṃśukavajjālāmarṇavamekhalām 24
24. kṣaṇam dalāgraviśrāntamugdhamugdhaśirastayā
paśyadbhīḥ indvaṃśukavat jālam arṇavamekhalām
24. kṣaṇam dalāgraviśrāntamugdhamugdhaśirastayā
paśyadbhīḥ indvaṃśukavat arṇavamekhalām jālam
24. For a moment, by having their charmingly innocent heads resting on the tips of leaves, they were seeing the ocean-girdled (earth's) radiance, like the rays of the moon.
वनस्थलीनां तनयैर्नयैमूर्तिमिवास्थितैः ।
शुभैः पत्रपुटेष्वन्तर्मृगैः सारतलान्तरम् ॥ २५ ॥
vanasthalīnāṃ tanayairnayaimūrtimivāsthitaiḥ ,
śubhaiḥ patrapuṭeṣvantarmṛgaiḥ sāratalāntaram 25
25. vanasthalīnām tanayaiḥ nayaiḥ mūrtim iva āsthitaiḥ
śubhaiḥ patraputeṣu antar mṛgaiḥ sāratalaantaram
25. vanasthalīnām tanayaiḥ nayaiḥ mūrtim iva āsthitaiḥ
śubhaiḥ mṛgaiḥ patraputeṣu antar sāratalaantaram
25. By the beautiful deer, the offspring of the forest lands, who seemed to have embodied natural principles (naya), (consuming) the innermost, substantial parts found within leaf-cups.
नीडश्वसत्सुविश्वस्तसुप्तमात्रकपक्षिणम् ।
पाकच्युतफलोपान्तभूतकञ्चुकमण्डली ॥ २६ ॥
nīḍaśvasatsuviśvastasuptamātrakapakṣiṇam ,
pākacyutaphalopāntabhūtakañcukamaṇḍalī 26
26. nīḍaśvasatsuviśvastasuptamātrakapakṣiṇam
pākacyutaphalopāntabhūtakañcukamaṇḍalī

26. A place characterized by birds softly breathing, peacefully and trustingly sleeping in their nests; and by a multitude of creatures whose bodies are found near ripened, fallen fruits.
संदिग्धमूकभ्रमरं गुच्छैः पूजाक्षसूत्रकैः ।
श्यामलीकृतपर्यन्तं नीडैः पल्लवमण्डितैः ॥ २७ ॥
saṃdigdhamūkabhramaraṃ gucchaiḥ pūjākṣasūtrakaiḥ ,
śyāmalīkṛtaparyantaṃ nīḍaiḥ pallavamaṇḍitaiḥ 27
27. saṃdigdhamūkabhramaram gucchaiḥ pūjākṣasūtrakaiḥ
śyāmalīkṛtaparyantam nīḍaiḥ pallavamaṇḍitaiḥ
27. gucchaiḥ pūjākṣasūtrakaiḥ saṃdigdhamūkabhramaram
nīḍaiḥ pallavamaṇḍitaiḥ śyāmalīkṛtaparyantam
27. A place where hesitant, silent bees hover among clusters of flowers resembling rosaries for worship; its borders darkened by nests adorned with fresh foliage.
सुगन्धिताशेषवनं पुष्पमेघीकृताम्बरम् ।
धूलीकदम्बशबलफलौघवलितं तले ॥ २८ ॥
sugandhitāśeṣavanaṃ puṣpameghīkṛtāmbaram ,
dhūlīkadambaśabalaphalaughavalitaṃ tale 28
28. sugandhitāśeṣavanam puṣpameghīkṛtāmbaram
dhūlīkadambaśabalaphalaughavalitam tale
28. āśeṣavanam sugandhitam ambaram puṣpameghīkṛtam

28. Making the entire forest fragrant, with the sky turned into a cloud of flowers; its ground variegated by masses of pollen and covered with heaps of fruit.
बहुनात्र किमुक्तेन न किंचिदपि विद्यते ।
पत्रं यत्र तरौ यत्र नोष्यते वा न युज्यते ॥ २९ ॥
bahunātra kimuktena na kiṃcidapi vidyate ,
patraṃ yatra tarau yatra noṣyate vā na yujyate 29
29. bahunā atra kim uktena na kiṃcit api vidyate
patram yatra tarau yatra na uṣyate vā na yujyate
29. atra bahunā kim uktena? kiṃcit api na vidyate;
yatra tarau patram yatra na uṣyate vā na yujyate
29. What more is to be said at length here? Nothing at all exists - not even a leaf on a tree - that is not inhabited or not put to use.
पत्रे पत्रे मृगाः सुप्ता विश्रान्ताश्च पदे पदे ।
कच्छे कच्छे खगा लीनास्तस्य भूरुहभूपतेः ॥ ३० ॥
patre patre mṛgāḥ suptā viśrāntāśca pade pade ,
kacche kacche khagā līnāstasya bhūruhabhūpateḥ 30
30. patre patre mṛgāḥ suptāḥ viśrāntāḥ ca pade pade
kacche kacche khagāḥ līnāḥ tasya bhūruhabhūpateḥ
30. tasya bhūruhabhūpateḥ patre patre mṛgāḥ suptāḥ ca pade pade viśrāntāḥ,
kacche kacche khagāḥ līnāḥ
30. Deer slept on every leaf, and rested at every step. Birds were hidden in every thicket, all around that king of trees.
एवंगुणविशिष्टं तं समालोकयतो मम ।
महोत्सवेन सदृशी सा बभूव तमस्विनी ॥ ३१ ॥
evaṃguṇaviśiṣṭaṃ taṃ samālokayato mama ,
mahotsavena sadṛśī sā babhūva tamasvinī 31
31. evaṃguṇaviśiṣṭam tam samālokayataḥ mama
mahotsavena sadṛśī sā babhūva tamasvinī
31. evaṃguṇaviśiṣṭam tam samālokayataḥ mama
sā tamasvinī mahotsavena sadṛśī babhūva
31. As I observed him, endowed with such qualities, that night became for me like a great festival.
ततः कथाभी रम्याभिः स तस्य तनयो मया ।
विज्ञानालोकरम्याभिर्नीतो बोधं परं पुनः ॥ ३२ ॥
tataḥ kathābhī ramyābhiḥ sa tasya tanayo mayā ,
vijñānālokaramyābhirnīto bodhaṃ paraṃ punaḥ 32
32. tataḥ kathābhiḥ ramyābhiḥ saḥ tasya tanayaḥ mayā
vijñānālokaramyābhiḥ nītaḥ bodham param punaḥ
32. tataḥ mayā ramyābhiḥ vijñānālokaramyābhiḥ kathābhiḥ
saḥ tasya tanayaḥ punaḥ param bodham nītaḥ
32. Then, by me, his (the king's) son was again led to supreme understanding through delightful stories, which were enchanting with the light of knowledge.
आवयोस्तत्र चित्राभिः कथाभिरितरेतरम् ।
शर्वरी सा व्यतीयाय मुहूर्त इव कान्तयोः ॥ ३३ ॥
āvayostatra citrābhiḥ kathābhiritaretaram ,
śarvarī sā vyatīyāya muhūrta iva kāntayoḥ 33
33. āvayoḥ tatra citrābhiḥ kathābhiḥ itaretaram
śarvarī sā vyatīyāya muhūrtaḥ iva kāntayoḥ
33. tatra āvayoḥ citrābhiḥ itaretaram kathābhiḥ
sā śarvarī kāntayoḥ muhūrtaḥ iva vyatīyāya
33. There, that night, filled with our various stories exchanged mutually, passed for us two (as quickly) as a moment for lovers.
प्रातः प्रतनुतां याते पुष्पर्द्धिघनजालके ।
स्वर्गाङ्गनाङ्गभोगाभे तारकानिकरे शनैः ॥ ३४ ॥

34. In the morning, when the cluster of stars (tārakānikara), which shone like the bodily pleasures of celestial maidens (svargāṅganā) and resembled a dense multitude of abundant flowers, slowly faded into sparseness.
आकदम्बनभोभागमुपयातं सुतान्वितम् ।
अहं विसृज्य दाशूरं ततोऽमरनदीं गतः ॥ ३५ ॥
ākadambanabhobhāgamupayātaṃ sutānvitam ,
ahaṃ visṛjya dāśūraṃ tato'maranadīṃ gataḥ 35
35. aham visṛjya dāśūram sutānvitam
ākadambanabhobhāgam upayātam tataḥ amaranadīm gataḥ

35. Having sent off Dāśūra, who had arrived with his son at the celestial region of the kadamba tree, I then went to the celestial river.
तत्राभिमतमासाद्य स्थानमेत्य नभस्तलम् ।
प्रविश्य खं मुनीनां च मध्यं स्वस्थ इव स्थितः ॥ ३६ ॥
tatrābhimatamāsādya sthānametya nabhastalam ,
praviśya khaṃ munīnāṃ ca madhyaṃ svastha iva sthitaḥ 36
36. tatra abhimatam āsādya sthānam etya nabhastalam
praviśya kham munīnām ca madhyam svasthaḥ iva sthitaḥ
36. tatra abhimatam sthānam āsādya nabhastalam etya kham
praviśya ca munīnām madhyam svasthaḥ iva sthitaḥ
36. There, having obtained the desired place, having reached the celestial region, and having entered the sky, I remained among the sages (muni) as if at ease.
दाशूराख्यायिकैषा ते कथिता रघुनन्दन ।
जगतः प्रतिबिम्बाभा सत्याकाराप्यसन्मयी ॥ ३७ ॥
dāśūrākhyāyikaiṣā te kathitā raghunandana ,
jagataḥ pratibimbābhā satyākārāpyasanmayī 37

37. O scion of Raghu (Raghunandana), this tale of Dāśūra has been recounted to you. It is like a reflection of the world (jagat), appearing to have the form of truth (satya) yet being inherently unreal (asat).
स्वरेणुचन्दनालेपैः समालब्धमखण्डितम् ।
स्वच्छदाभोगविपुलरक्ताम्बरपरिच्छदम् ॥ ३८ ॥

38. It was anointed with its own pollen and sandalwood paste, complete and unbroken, and clad in clean, expansive, vast red garments.
तस्मादवास्तवीं त्यक्त्वा वास्तवीमपि रञ्जनाम् ।
दाशूरसिद्धान्तदृशा सदोदारो भवात्मवान् ॥ ३९ ॥
tasmādavāstavīṃ tyaktvā vāstavīmapi rañjanām ,
dāśūrasiddhāntadṛśā sadodāro bhavātmavān 39
39. tasmāt avāstavīm tyaktvā vāstavīm api rañjanām
dāśūrasiddhāntadṛśā sadā udāraḥ bhava ātmavān
39. tasmāt avāstavīm vāstavīm api rañjanām tyaktvā
dāśūrasiddhāntadṛśā sadā udāraḥ ātmavān bhava
39. Therefore, having abandoned both unreal and even real delusions (rañjanā), always be noble and established in the Self (ātman) through the insight of the Dāśūra doctrine.
तस्माद्विकल्पं मलमात्मनस्त्वं निर्धूय पश्यामलमात्मतत्त्वम् ।
आसादयिष्यस्यचिरात्पदं तद्भविष्यसीज्यो भुवनेषु येन ॥ ४० ॥
tasmādvikalpaṃ malamātmanastvaṃ nirdhūya paśyāmalamātmatattvam ,
āsādayiṣyasyacirātpadaṃ tadbhaviṣyasījyo bhuvaneṣu yena 40
40. tasmāt vikalpam malam ātmanaḥ tvam
nirdhūya paśya amalam ātmatattvam
āsādayiṣyasi acirāt padam
tat bhaviṣyasi ījyaḥ bhuvaneṣu yena
40. tasmāt tvam ātmanaḥ vikalpam malam
nirdhūya amalam ātmatattvam
paśya acirāt tat padam āsādayiṣyasi
yena bhuvaneṣu ījyaḥ bhaviṣyasi
40. Therefore, you, having entirely removed the impurity of mental fabrications (vikalpa) from the Self (ātman), behold the pure essence (ātmatattva) of the Self. You will swiftly attain that state by which you will become venerable in all the worlds.
