caṇḍālo'hamihākhyātaḥ pravīreti purottame .
vikhyāto vadhyavadhako mṛtakambalahārakaḥ.

The Caṇḍāla said, 'I am a Caṇḍāla, known here in this excellent city as Pravīra. I am renowned as the executioner who slays those destined for death and as the bearer of the shrouds of the deceased.'
