मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-173

राजपत्न्युवाच ।
हा राजन्नद्य बालं त्वं पश्य सोमं महीतले ।
रममाणं पुरा दृष्टं दुष्टाहिना मृतम् ॥१७३॥
173. rājapatnyuvāca .
hā rājannadya bālaṃ tvaṃ paśya somaṃ mahītale .
ramamāṇaṃ purā dṛṣṭaṃ duṣṭāhinā mṛtam.
173. rāja-patnī uvāca hā rājan adya bālam tvam paśya
somam mahī-tale ramamāṇam purā dṛṣṭam duṣṭāhinā mṛtam
173. The queen said: 'O King, today behold the child Soma on the ground, whom you formerly saw playing, but who is now dead, having been bitten by a wicked snake.'
