मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-115

गायतां भूत-वेताल-पिशाचगणः रक्षसाम् ।
श्रूयते सुमहान् घोरः कल्पान्त इव निः स्वनः ॥११५॥
115. gāyatāṃ bhūta-vetāla-piśācagaṇaḥ rakṣasām .
śrūyate sumahān ghoraḥ kalpānta iva niḥ svanaḥ.
115. gāyatām bhūta-vetāla-piśāca-gaṇaḥ rakṣasām
śrūyate sumahān ghoraḥ kalpa-antaḥ iva niḥ svanaḥ
115. An immensely great and dreadful sound (niḥ svanaḥ) is heard, as if it were the end of a cosmic age (kalpa), emanating from the singing hosts of ghosts (bhūta), vetālas, piśācas, and rakṣasas.
