मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-201

राज्यनाशं सुहृत्त्यागं भार्या-तनयविक्रयम् ।
प्रापयित्वापि नो कुक्तश्चण्डालोऽयं कृतो नृपः ॥२०१॥
201. rājyanāśaṃ suhṛttyāgaṃ bhāryā-tanayavikrayam .

201. Even after bringing about the destruction of his kingdom, the abandonment of his friends, and the sale of his wife and son, this king was not (just) reviled, but was then made into an outcaste (caṇḍāla).
