मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-131

तत्रस्थश्चाप्यसौ राजा सोऽचिन्तयदिदं तदा ।
इतो निष्क्रान्तमात्रो हि दानधर्मं करोम्यहम् ॥१३१॥
131. tatrasthaścāpyasau rājā so'cintayadidaṃ tadā .
ito niṣkrāntamātro hi dānadharmaṃ karomyaham.
131. tatra-sthaḥ ca api asau rājā saḥ acintayat idam tadā
itaḥ niṣkrānta-mātraḥ hi dāna-dharmam karomi aham
131. That king, who was staying there, then thought to himself: 'Indeed, as soon as I depart from this place, I will perform the acts of charity (dāna dharma).'
