मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-222

वैतरण्याङ्कुतस्तादृग् यादृशं पुत्रविप्लवे ।
सोऽहं सुतशिरीरेण दीप्यमाने हुताशने ॥२२२॥
222. vaitaraṇyāṅkutastādṛg yādṛśaṃ putraviplave .
so'haṃ sutaśirīreṇa dīpyamāne hutāśane.
222. vaitaraṇyām kutaḥ tādṛk yādṛśam putraviplave
saḥ aham sutaśarīreṇa dīpyamāne hutāśane
222. What suffering in the Vaitaraṇī river could compare to that of a son's destruction? Therefore, I, with my son's body, (will enter) the blazing fire.
