मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-157

इत्युक्त्वा सर्पपाशैस्तु नीयते बलवद्विभुः ।
श्राद्धदेवेन कथितं विश्वामित्रस्य चेष्टितम् ॥१५७॥
157. ityuktvā sarpapāśaistu nīyate balavadvibhuḥ .
śrāddhadevena kathitaṃ viśvāmitrasya ceṣṭitam.
157. iti uktvā sarpa-pāśaiḥ tu nīyate balavat vibhuḥ
| śrāddha-devena kathitam viśvāmitrasya ceṣṭitam
157. Having said this, the mighty lord was indeed led by serpent-nooses. Viśvāmitra's deed was narrated by Śrāddhadeva.
