मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-250

ब्रह्महत्या गुरोर्घातो गोवधः स्त्रीवधस्तथा ।
तुल्यमेभिर्महापापं भक्तत्यागेऽप्युदाहृतम् ॥२५०॥
250. brahmahatyā gurorghāto govadhaḥ strīvadhastathā .
tulyamebhirmahāpāpaṃ bhaktatyāge'pyudāhṛtam.
250. brahmahatyā guroḥ ghātaḥ govadhaḥ strīvadhaḥ tathā
tulyam ebhiḥ mahāpāpam bhaktatyāge api udāhṛtam
250. Killing a Brahmin, slaying a guru (teacher), cow slaughter, and killing a woman—a great sin (mahāpāpa) equal to these is also declared when one abandons a devotee (bhakta).
