मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-2

अहो महात्मना तेन प्राप्तं कृच्छ्रमनुत्तमम् ।
कच्चित् सुखमनुप्राप्तं तादृगेव द्विजोत्तमाः ॥२॥
2. aho mahātmanā tena prāptaṃ kṛcchramanuttamam .
kaccit sukhamanuprāptaṃ tādṛgeva dvijottamāḥ.

kaccit sukham anuprāptam tādṛk eva dvijottamāḥ
2. Oh, that great-souled one endured unparalleled hardship! I hope he subsequently attained an equivalent amount of happiness, O best of Brahmins!
