मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-246

धर्म उवाच ।
तवैनं भाविनं क्लेशमवगम्यात्ममायया ।
आत्मा श्वपाकतां नीतो दर्शितं तच्च चापलम् ॥२४६॥
246. dharma uvāca .
tavainaṃ bhāvinaṃ kleśamavagamyātmamāyayā .
ātmā śvapākatāṃ nīto darśitaṃ tacca cāpalam.
246. dharmaḥ uvāca tava enam bhāvinam kleśam avagamya
ātma-māyayā ātmā śvapakātām nītaḥ darśitam tat ca cāpalam
246. Dharma said: "Having understood this future distress of yours through my own illusory power (māyā), I myself assumed the state of a dog-eater, and that transience (of worldly fortune) was thus demonstrated."
