शक्र भुङ्क्ते नृपो राज्यं प्रभावेण कुटुम्बिनाम् ।
यजते च महायज्ञैः कर्म पौर्तं करोति च ॥२५४॥

śakra bhuṅkte nṛpo rājyaṃ prabhāveṇa kuṭumbinām .
yajate ca mahāyajñaiḥ karma paurtaṃ karoti ca.

Harishchandra said: "O Indra, a king enjoys his kingdom through the influence of his subjects. He also performs great Vedic rituals (yajña) and carries out deeds of public welfare (paurta karma)."
