मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-236

धर्मि उवाच ।
मा राजन् साहसं कार्षोर्धर्मोऽहं त्वामुपागतः ।
तितिक्षा-दम-सत्याद्यैः स्वगुणैः परितोषितः ॥२३६॥
236. dharmi uvāca .
mā rājan sāhasaṃ kārṣordharmo'haṃ tvāmupāgataḥ .
titikṣā-dama-satyādyaiḥ svaguṇaiḥ paritoṣitaḥ.
236. dharmi uvāca mā rājan sāhasam kārṣoḥ dharmaḥ aham tvām
upāgataḥ titikṣā-dama-satyādyaiḥ svaguṇaiḥ paritoṣitaḥ
236. Dharma (natural law) said: 'O King, do not commit such a rash act. I am Dharma (natural law) myself, who has approached you, and I am pleased by your own qualities such as forbearance, self-control, and truthfulness.'
