मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-53

पक्षिण ऊचुः ।
अथ वृद्धो द्विजः कश्चिदागत्याह नराधिपम् ।
समर्पयस्व मे दासीमहं क्रेता धनप्रदः ॥५३॥
53. pakṣiṇa ūcuḥ .
atha vṛddho dvijaḥ kaścidāgatyāha narādhipam .
samarpayasva me dāsīmahaṃ kretā dhanapradaḥ.
53. pakṣiṇaḥ ūcuḥ atha vṛddhaḥ dvijaḥ kaścid āgatya āha
nara-adhipam samarpayasva me dāsīm aham kretā dhana-pradaḥ
53. The birds said: Then an old brahmin (dvija) approached the king and said, 'Hand over the maidservant to me. I am the buyer, a giver of wealth.'
