इन्द्र उवाच ।
बहूनि पुण्यपापानि तेषां भिन्नानि वै पृथक् ।
कथं सङ्घातभोग्यं त्वं भूयः स्वर्गमवाप्स्यसि ॥२५३॥

bahūni puṇyapāpāni teṣāṃ bhinnāni vai pṛthak .
kathaṃ saṅghātabhogyaṃ tvaṃ bhūyaḥ svargamavāpsyasi.

indraḥ uvāca bahūni puṇyapāpāni teṣām bhinnāni vai pṛthak
katham saṅghātabhogyam tvam bhūyaḥ svargam avāpsyasi

Indra said: "There are many merits and demerits (karma), yet they are indeed distinct for each individual. How will you, whose enjoyment of the fruits of actions (karma) is collectively shared, attain heaven again?"
