मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-138

अपश्यद्यमदूतान् वै पाशहस्तान् भयावहान् ।
तैः संगृहीतमात्मानं नीयमानं तदा बलात् ॥१३८॥
138. apaśyadyamadūtān vai pāśahastān bhayāvahān .
taiḥ saṃgṛhītamātmānaṃ nīyamānaṃ tadā balāt.
138. apaśyat yama-dūtān vai pāśa-hastān bhayāvahān
taiḥ saṃgṛhītam ātmānam nīyamānam tadā balāt
138. He saw Yama's messengers, indeed, holding nooses in their hands and looking terrifying. He saw his own self (ātman) being seized by them and then forcibly led away.
