मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-8, verse-24

पत्न्युवाच ।
राजन् जातमपत्यं मे सतां पुत्रफलाः स्त्रियः ।
स मां प्रदाय वित्तेन देहि विप्राय दक्षिणाम् ॥२४॥
24. patnyuvāca .
rājan jātamapatyaṃ me satāṃ putraphalāḥ striyaḥ .
sa māṃ pradāya vittena dehi viprāya dakṣiṇām.
24. patnī uvāca rājan jātam apatyam me satām putraphalāḥ
striyaḥ sa mām pradāya vittena dehi viprāya dakṣiṇām
24. The wife said, "O King, a child has been born to me. Virtuous women are blessed with children. Therefore, hand me over for wealth, and give that wealth as a donation (dakṣiṇā) to the Brahmin."
