वरुणेन यथा पाशैर्बद्ध एवाभिदृश्यते ।
तथा पापान्निगृह्णीयाद व्रतमेतद हि वारुणम ॥३०८॥

Just as one is seen bound by Varuṇa (varuṇa) with his nooses, so too should [a king] restrain evil-doers. This is indeed the observance (vrata) of Varuṇa.
