मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-9, verse-20

यन मे माता प्रलुलुभे विचरन्त्यपतिव्रता ।
तन मे रेतः पिता वृङ्क्तामित्यस्यैतन्निदर्शनम ॥२०॥
20. yan me mātā pralulubhe vicarantyapativratā ,
tan me retaḥ pitā vṛṅktāmityasyaitannidarśanam.
20. yat me mātā pralulubhe vicarantī apativratā tat
me retaḥ pitā vṛṅktām iti asya etat nidarśanam
20. yat me mātā apativratā vicarantī pralulubhe tat
me retaḥ pitā vṛṅktām iti asya etat nidarśanam
20. “May my father avert that seed of mine, by which my mother, wandering unfaithful to her husband, became deeply infatuated.” This is an illustration of that [purificatory rite].
