मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-9, verse-251

एवं धर्म्याणि कार्याणि सम्यक कुर्वन महीपतिः ।
देशानलब्धान्लिप्सेत लब्धांश्च परिपालयेत ॥२५१॥
251. evaṁ dharmyāṇi kāryāṇi samyak kurvan mahīpatiḥ ,
deśānalabdhānlipseta labdhāṁśca paripālayet.

deśān alabdhān lipsīta labdhān ca paripālayet

251. Thus, a king, by properly performing duties that are in accordance with (dharma), should seek to acquire lands not yet gained and should protect those already acquired.
