मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-9, verse-319

एवं यद्यप्यनिष्टेषु वर्तन्ते सर्वकर्मसु ।
सर्वथा ब्राह्मणाः पूज्याः परमं दैवतं हि तत ॥३१९॥
319. evaṁ yadyapyaniṣṭeṣu vartante sarvakarmasu ,
sarvathā brāhmaṇāḥ pūjyāḥ paramaṁ daivataṁ hi tat.

sarvathā brāhmaṇāḥ pūjyāḥ paramam daivatam hi tat
319. एवम् यद्यपि अनिष्टेषु सर्वकर्मसु वर्तन्ते (तथापि)
ब्राह्मणाः सर्वथा पूज्याः हि तत् परमम् दैवतम्
319. Even if they engage in all kinds of improper actions (karma), Brahmins are always worthy of reverence, for they are indeed the supreme divinity.
