मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-9, verse-105

ज्येष्ठ एव तु गृह्णीयात पित्र्यं धनमशेषतः ।
शेषास्तमुपजीवेयुर्यथैव पितरं तथा ॥१०५॥
105. jyeṣṭha eva tu gṛhṇīyāt pitryaṁ dhanamaśeṣataḥ ,
śeṣāstamupajīveyuryathaiva pitaraṁ tathā.

śeṣāḥ tam upajīveyuḥ yathā eva pitaram tathā
105. tu jyeṣṭhaḥ eva aśeṣataḥ pitryam dhanam gṛhṇīyāt
śeṣāḥ tam upajīveyuḥ yathā eva pitaram tathā
105. But indeed, only the eldest should take the entire paternal wealth. The remaining (brothers) should subsist on him, just as they would on their father.
