महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-2, verse-219

सहस्रमेकं श्लोकानां पञ्च श्लोकशतानि च ।
षडेव च तथा श्लोकाः संख्यातास्तत्त्वदर्शिना ॥२१९॥
219. sahasramekaṁ ślokānāṁ pañca ślokaśatāni ca ,
ṣaḍeva ca tathā ślokāḥ saṁkhyātāstattvadarśinā.

eva ca tathā ślokāḥ sankhyātāḥ tattvadarśinā
219. One thousand, five hundred, and also exactly six verses – thus, they have been counted by the seer of truth (Vyasa).
