महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-2, verse-26

अहानि युयुधे भीष्मो दशैव परमास्त्रवित् ।
अहानि पञ्च द्रोणस्तु ररक्ष कुरुवाहिनीम् ॥२६॥
26. ahāni yuyudhe bhīṣmo daśaiva paramāstravit ,
ahāni pañca droṇastu rarakṣa kuruvāhinīm.

26. Bhishma, the expert in supreme weapons, fought for exactly ten days. But Drona protected the Kuru army for five days.
