महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-2, verse-139

वव्रे दुर्योधनः सैन्यं मन्दात्मा यत्र दुर्मतिः ।
अयुध्यमानं सचिवं वव्रे कृष्णं धनंजयः ॥१३९॥
139. vavre duryodhanaḥ sainyaṁ mandātmā yatra durmatiḥ ,
ayudhyamānaṁ sacivaṁ vavre kṛṣṇaṁ dhanaṁjayaḥ.

139. Thereupon, Duryodhana, the dull-witted and evil-minded one, chose the army, while Arjuna chose Krishna, the non-combatant advisor.
