महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-2, verse-3

त्रेताद्वापरयोः संधौ रामः शस्त्रभृतां वरः ।
असकृत्पार्थिवं क्षत्रं जघानामर्षचोदितः ॥३॥
3. tretādvāparayoḥ saṁdhau rāmaḥ śastrabhṛtāṁ varaḥ ,
asakṛtpārthivaṁ kṣatraṁ jaghānāmarṣacoditaḥ.

3. At the juncture of the Treta and Dvapara ages, Rama, the foremost among those who bear weapons, repeatedly annihilated the royal Kshatriya class, driven by intense anger.
