महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-2, verse-172

अष्टमं पर्व निर्दिष्टमेतद्भारतचिन्तकैः ।
एकोनसप्ततिः प्रोक्ता अध्यायाः कर्णपर्वणि ।
चत्वार्येव सहस्राणि नव श्लोकशतानि च ॥१७२॥

ekonasaptatiḥ proktā adhyāyāḥ karṇaparvaṇi ,
