मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-11, verse-44

अकुर्वन विहितं कर्म निन्दितं च समाचरन ।
प्रसक्तश्चैन्द्रियार्थेषु प्रायश्चित्तीयते नरः ॥४४॥
44. akurvan vihitaṁ karma ninditaṁ ca samācaran ,
prasaktaścaindriyārtheṣu prāyaścittīyate naraḥ.

prasaktaḥ ca indriyārtheṣu prāyaścittīyate naraḥ

44. A man who neglects prescribed duties, and performs forbidden actions, and is engrossed in sense objects, becomes liable to penance.
