मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-11, verse-145

एतैर्व्रतैरपोह्यं स्यादेनो हिंसासमुद्भवम ।
ज्ञानाज्ञानकृतं कृत्स्नं शृणुतानाद्यभक्षणे ॥१४५॥
145. etairvratairapohyaṁ syādeno hiṁsāsamudbhavam ,
jñānājñānakṛtaṁ kṛtsnaṁ śṛṇutānādyabhakṣaṇe.
145. etaiḥ vrataiḥ apohyam syāt enaḥ hiṃsā-samudbhavam
jñāna-ajñāna-kṛtam kṛtsnam śṛṇuta anādya-bhakṣaṇe
145. etaiḥ vrataiḥ hiṃsā-samudbhavam jñāna-ajñāna-kṛtam
kṛtsnam enaḥ apohyam syāt anādya-bhakṣaṇe śṛṇuta
145. Through these observances, all sin arising from violence, whether committed knowingly or unknowingly, should be removed. Now, listen concerning the consumption of forbidden food.
