एतेभ्यो हि द्विजाग्र्येभ्यो देयमन्नं सदक्षिणम ।
इतरेभ्यो बहिर्वेदि कृतान्नं देयमुच्यते ॥३॥

Indeed, to these foremost twice-born (dvija), food along with a donation should be given. Cooked food is declared to be given to others who are outside the ritual enclosure (vedi).
