बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-46, verse-87

ज्ञात्वैवं स्फुटसिद्धान्तं राश्यंशं गणयेद् बुधः ।
अनुपातेन वक्ष्यामि तदुपायमतः परम् ॥८७॥
87. jñātvaivaṃ sphuṭasiddhāntaṃ rāśyaṃśaṃ gaṇayed budhaḥ .
anupātena vakṣyāmi tadupāyamataḥ param.
87. jñātvā evam sphuṭasiddhāntam rāśyaṃśam gaṇayet
budhaḥ | anupātena vakṣyāmi tat upāyam ataḥ param
87. Having thus understood the clear doctrine (siddhānta), a wise person (budha) should calculate the sign's degree (rāśyaṃśa). Afterwards, I will explain that method using proportionality.
