The total years of a daśā, when multiplied by the elapsed portion of the sign and then divided by thirty (degrees), yields the elapsed (bhukta) portion of the daśā in years, months, etc. The remaining (bhogya) portion is to be understood by subtracting this elapsed (bhukta) duration from the total daśā duration (māna).
