The result, obtained by multiplying the total measure of a planetary period (daśāmanā) by the elapsed portion of the natal lunar mansion (bhayāt) and then dividing by the total duration of that lunar mansion (bhābhoga), gives the elapsed years and other units of the planetary period. The remaining duration of the planetary period (daśā) is then calculated by subtracting these elapsed years from the total measure (māna) of the planetary period.
