बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-46, verse-28

सूर्यो गुरुः शिखी ज्ञोऽगुः कुजो मन्दो निशाकरः ।
विना शुक्रं दशाधीशा द्विचयात् सप्ततः समाः ॥२८॥
28. sūryo guruḥ śikhī jño'guḥ kujo mando niśākaraḥ .
vinā śukraṃ daśādhīśā dvicayāt saptataḥ samāḥ.
28. sūryaḥ guruḥ śikhī jñaḥ aguḥ kujaḥ mandaḥ niśākaraḥ
vinā śukram daśādhīśāḥ dvicayāt saptataḥ samāḥ
28. The Sun, Jupiter, Ketu, Mercury, Rāhu, Mars, Saturn, and the Moon are the lords of the planetary periods (dashā), excluding Venus. Their respective years are determined from a principle involving the numbers two and seven.
