बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-46, verse-64

कर्कमीनौ देहजीवौ कर्कादिनवराशिपाः ।
दशाधीशाश्च विज्ञेया नवैते द्विजसत्तम ॥६४॥
64. karkamīnau dehajīvau karkādinavarāśipāḥ .
daśādhīśāśca vijñeyā navaite dvijasattama.
64. karka mīnau dehajīvau karka ādi nava rāśipāḥ
daśādhīśāḥ ca vijñeyāḥ nava ete dvijasattama
64. O best among twice-born ones (dvijasattama), Cancer and Pisces are considered the 'body' (deha) and 'life' (jīva). These nine sign lords, beginning with Cancer, are to be known as the lords of the planetary periods (dashas).
