मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-395

श्रोत्रियं व्याधितार्तौ च बालवृद्धावकिञ्चनम ।
महाकुलीनमार्यं च राजा संपूजयेत सदा ॥३९५॥
395. śrotriyaṁ vyādhitārtau ca bālavṛddhāvakiñcanam ,
mahākulīnamāryaṁ ca rājā saṁpūjayet sadā.

395. The king should always honor a Vedic scholar, the sick and the distressed, children and the elderly, a destitute person, a person of high lineage, and a noble person.
