मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-393

श्रोत्रियः श्रोत्रियं साधुं भूतिकृत्येष्वभोजयन ।
तदन्नं द्विगुणं दाप्यो हिरण्यं चैव माषकम ॥३९३॥
393. śrotriyaḥ śrotriyaṁ sādhuṁ bhūtikṛtyeṣvabhojayan ,
tadannaṁ dviguṇaṁ dāpyo hiraṇyaṁ caiva māṣakam.

393. A Vedic scholar (śrotriya) who, in ceremonies for prosperity, fails to feed another virtuous (sādhu) Vedic scholar (śrotriya), shall be made to pay double that food and also a māṣaka of gold.
