मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-312

क्षन्तव्यं प्रभुणा नित्यं क्षिपतां कार्यिणां नृणाम ।
बालवृद्धातुराणां च कुर्वता हितमात्मनः ॥३१२॥
312. kṣantavyaṁ prabhuṇā nityaṁ kṣipatāṁ kāryiṇāṁ nṛṇām ,
bālavṛddhāturāṇāṁ ca kurvatā hitamātmanaḥ.

nṛṇām bālavṛddhāturāṇām ca kurvatā hitam ātmanaḥ

312. For the lord who seeks his own good (ātman), it is always fitting to forgive people engaged in tasks who are reproaching him, as well as children, the elderly, and the sick.
