मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-291

छिन्ननास्ये भग्नयुगे तिर्यक्प्रतिमुखागते ।
अक्षभङ्गे च यानस्य चक्रभङ्गे तथैव च ॥२९१॥
291. chinnanāsye bhagnayuge tiryakpratimukhāgate ,
akṣabhaṅge ca yānasya cakrabhaṅge tathaiva ca.

291. When the nose-rope is cut, the yoke is broken, [the animal or vehicle] has gone awry or turned back, and when the axle of the vehicle is broken, and likewise, the wheel is broken.
