मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-287

अङ्गावपीडनायां च व्रणशोणितयोस्तथा ।
समुत्थानव्ययं दाप्यः सर्वदण्डमथापि वा ॥२८७॥
287. aṅgāvapīḍanāyāṁ ca vraṇaśoṇitayostathā ,
samutthānavyayaṁ dāpyaḥ sarvadaṇḍamathāpi vā.

287. In cases of injury to limbs, or wounds and bloodshed, the offender must be made to pay for the expenses of recovery, or even the full penalty.
